"Captain Yang," a voice called from outside the door; it was Huang Qiang, "The station has finalized your training plan. Are you available now?"
"Sure," Yang Xiao turned and gave Beibei and the others a look that spelled doom for rumormongers, then followed Huang Qiang out.
The two took the elevator to the basent level, where the doors opened to a spacious area that served as a shooting range.
"Bang!"
"Bang!"
Not far away, soone was facing away from Yang Xiao and Huang Qiang, wearing over-ear earmuffs, taking aim and firing with concentration.
"This is the departnt’s training base. What you see here is the firearm training field, which is generally divided into three areas. The other two are the physical fitness training center, and the Special Equipnt Training Center," explained Huang Qiang as they walked.
Walking towards the left side of the firearm training area, they pushed open a heavy door, and the scene changed to a large room similar to a gym. On one side, there were various fitness machines, on the other, hanging sandbags, and a row of dumbbell racks.
In the middle of the room, there was a square area with a layer of light gray mats on the floor, where a young girl with a short ponytail was squatting and stretching her muscles.
As Yang Xiao and Huang Qiang entered, the girl stood up, stretched her body, and walked towards them. She had a well-proportioned figure, fair skin, and an inherently sharp aura on her face.
"Captain Yang, I’m your combat training instructor, Zhu Yina," the girl said professionally as she extended her hand to shake with Yang Xiao.
"Captain Yang, your physical training and fighting skills will both be managed by Zhu Yina. You two should get to know each other and arrange training tis. You’ll also need to undergo firearm subject training and specialty equipnt training concurrently. Ti is short and there’s a lot to do," Huang Qiang said before leaving them.
Zhu Yina took out a sheet of paper from her waist pouch, "Captain Yang, this is your physical fitness report. I’ve reviewed it before. If we consider a physically healthy adult male’s score as 100, your score is only 84 points. You’re quite a bit off the mark. In other words, at least according to the report, compared to a healthy adult male, your body has certain deficiencies."
"That day I was checked, I wasn’t in good shape. I... right, I didn’t have breakfast! I really didn’t eat breakfast!" Yang Xiao made excuses.
Zhu Yina nodded, "Not having breakfast can indeed affect the results, but the fluctuation won’t exceed 5 percentage points. So at most, you have 89 points, which still shows so deficiencies."
"Teacher Zhu, listen to . The day before the check-up, I also didn’t sleep well. No, I an I didn’t sleep at all. I spent the first half of the night at an internet café and the second half at a bar. I was totally out of it," Yang Xiao rambled with excuses.
"Captain Yang, you don’t need to explain. Let’s get down to business," Zhu Yina interrupted him with a no-nonsense attitude, "The chief’s requirent is to quickly equip you with the ability to defend yourself. Therefore, based on your physical deficiencies, I have tailored a training thod for you."
"As for physical training, we can progress in a standard gradual manner. But let talk to you about combat training. Have you heard of Baji Fist?" Zhu Yina put away the report and looked at Yang Xiao.
"I’ve heard of it. ’Ten years of Taiji is t with indifference, while a year of Baji can be lethal.’ It’s said to be one of the strongest disciplines in traditional martial arts," Yang Xiao was sowhat knowledgeable.
"That’s correct. Baji Fist is a short-strike martial art, known for its powerful, direct movents, and explosive strength. It’s a very practical form of fighting skill. Coupled with so basic Muay Thai moves, particularly the knee and elbow strikes, I am confident you can have a decent fighting ability in a short ti. Against an untrained person, you’ll have an edge."
"However, before we start training, I must tell you sothing. First, use your intelligence to avoid conflicts as much as possible. If a conflict is unavoidable, use a gun if you have one, then a knife or a stick, and at the very least, a rock could also do. Besides that, consider opportunities for ambushes, poison, capturing sothing or soone the enemy cares about to force compliance, and if conditions allow, seduction can also be an option. Only if all the above fails should you consider face-to-face close combat, which is the most foolish and the last option."
"Understood!" Yang Xiao replied.
"Alright, even though we have the physical report, I still need to do a more direct assessnt of you." Zhu Yina led Yang Xiao to the middle of the room, and they stood three ters apart, facing each other, "Co on, attack without weapons. Any other moves, you choose."
"This..."
Yang Xiao had thought Zhu Yina was just an administrator of the training facility, and that the real instructor would be soone else. Plus, the idea of striking a young woman was a bit too much for him; he was a sowhat conservative guy who would have preferred sparring with a man.
But his hesitation took on a different aning in Zhu Yina’s eyes, "What? Are you afraid you’ll hurt ? Or do you think I’m not qualified?"
Zhu Yina had encountered a few figures at the captain level before; these people all had their own strengths and pride. They wouldn’t be convinced without being put in their place, and that would not bode well for the training ahead.
Yang Xiao forced a smile on his face. This girl seed not to interact much with others, and her speech was incredibly direct, "No, no, no, I just feel it’s not... not really appropriate."
Zhu Yina took off the white towel wrapped around her right arm and threw it to Yang Xiao, "Keep the towel sowhere you can easily grab it. If you can’t stand it anymore, just raise the towel and I’ll stop."
