Now reading: Chapter 1181 - 795: Prophecy from Nightmare Apostle, a Drama novel by Gentle sleep advisor.

As those words were spoken, the hairs on Yang Xiao’s back stood on end, and goosebumps rose on his arms. He knew very well that at this critical mont, a Martyr would never joke with him like this.

But what he never expected was that the Ghost hadn’t left but was lurking beside him.

This shattered Yang Xiao’s understanding of the Ghost Script, filling him with terror.

"Where... where is it?" Cold sweat appeared on his forehead as Yang Xiao glanced around with the corner of his eye.

Although the situation arose suddenly, Yang Xiao didn’t lose his composure. Moreover, as a seasoned individual, he was not fighting alone.

In this not-so-large room sat three Netherworld Envoys, giving Yang Xiao imnse confidence.

The Martyr didn’t answer Yang Xiao; a few seconds later, he shuddered as if his spiritual power had been drained, and leaned back powerlessly against the chair, the eerie blue light in his eyes fading away.

The iron-grip-like hands also relaxed, and the Martyr’s arms hung limply, his chest heaving intensely as he gasped for breath, as if he had suddenly aged ten years.

"A prophecy..." Even the well-experienced Sheng Yanlin was deeply shocked at this mont, "You saw the future, his future in the Nightmare World!"

The Martyr swallowed hard, struggling to lift his eyelids to glance at Sheng Yanlin, but gave no response.

At this mont, the old man looked so weak as if he might die any second, his exposed skin showing a sickly ashen grey. Using his ability had brought about an astonishing backlash.

"What did you see?" Sheng Yanlin pinned all his hopes on Yang Xiao now and certainly didn’t want anything to happen to him. He stepped forward to question, regardless of the presence of the Cannibal Buddha.

But the old man, who was probably twice Sheng Yanlin’s age, paid no heed to him, gasping on his own, his hollow pupils slowly shifting to rest on Yang Xiao’s face.

Yang Xiao could sense that the old man bore no malice towards him, but his gaze was as if looking at a dead man.

The Cannibal Buddha suddenly gave a low growl towards the door; then it opened, and after a few instructions to his subordinates, the Martyr, chair and all, was carried away.

"You should leave too." The Cannibal Buddha looked at Sheng Yanlin, uttering the command with a tone of authority over subordinates.

Sheng Yanlin glanced at Yang Xiao, saying nothing, and turned to leave, the look he left behind quite complex.

Yang Xiao roughly understood that this respected Martyr within the Esoteric Sect was a very special high-level Apostle, possessing the ability to foresee the future.

It seed like the Cannibal Buddha hadn’t spared him entirely because of his status; this ability was also crucial.

The more powerful and strange a Magic Artifact, the harder it is to control; even if the Martyr was killed and his artifact taken, finding another who could perfectly match with it wouldn’t be easy.

The Cannibal Buddha didn’t conceal the Martyr’s ability. It was indeed a bizarre ability akin to foresight, but its effects were unstable; what could be seen, and how far into the future, remained unknown, but generally, the scenes were from within a week into the future.

And the Martyr didn’t explain much, not out of arrogance, but because he couldn’t; he could only briefly express fragnts of the future he saw, but once the ability was severed, he wouldn’t rember what exactly he had seen.

"It’s like... a prophecy." Yang Xiao’s doubts were partially alleviated, gaining so insight.

"Exactly."

"How accurate are the old man’s prophecies?" Yang Xiao was very concerned about this point.

To this, the Cannibal Buddha’s face grew slightly somber, exhaling slowly, "Never missed."

This nearly amounted to pronouncing Yang Xiao’s death sentence. The prophecy left by the old man consisted of two sentences: the first predicted Yang Xiao’s death, which was of no use, not providing any valuable clues.

The critical part was the second sentence: it’s right beside you, this ’it’ seemingly referring to the Ghost.

In a mission, a ghost appearing beside soone is normal, but the odd thing lay in the use of the word "right."

This word gave Yang Xiao a very bad feeling, suggesting that the Ghost was much closer to him than he anticipated.

This wasn’t a good on, along with the Martyr’s prophecy of his death, the danger level of this mission was probably beyond his imagination.

"High Priest, could you assist in finding comrades for this mission within the Esoteric Sect’s territory?"

If reliable allies could be found, Yang Xiao’s chances of survival would significantly increase; at this mont, he could only rely on the power of the Esoteric Sect.

The Cannibal Buddha told him that his people had already sent photos of the manuscript to various towns under the Esoteric Sect. As soon as anyone who received the script was found, they would be brought in imdiately.

"Yang Xiao, what I said earlier still stands. From now on, you have at least about two days; I can craft a Yin Talisman for you."

The Cannibal Buddha looked at him solemnly, his words sincere, "You are still young; I don’t want you to die, and neither does Sutana. It’s been a long ti since I’ve seen her so happy."

Yang Xiao understood that the Cannibal Buddha genuinely cared about him, and given the disparity in their statuses, it was extrely rare for the other party to treat him like this.

"Thank you for your kind offer, High Priest, but life and death are predestined. I, Yang Xiao, will not implicate others." As soon as he finished speaking, Yang Xiao recalled words once spoken by Professor Cui, and montarily felt worried for his friends within the Esoteric Sect. After so hesitation, he cupped his hands towards the High Priest, "High Priest, may I ask you for a favor?"

"Speak." The Cannibal Buddha was straightforward, not pressuring Yang Xiao to accept his advice; he had already pointed Yang Xiao towards a path, and whether or not he would take it was Yang Xiao’s decision.
