Plus, this ghost is really stupid. Of all people to disguise as, it chose to disguise as Zhang. Zhang is such a smart person; he wouldn’t wander around outside at night aimlessly. This is trying to fool a fool.
Whatever, to survive, I have to listen to Zhang. Zhou Hai is a newcor, yes, but he follows orders. Even if the King of Heaven himself cos tonight, he won’t open the door.
With what happened tonight, he owes Zhang a favor. When they et again tomorrow, he definitely needs to thank him properly. Zhou Hai thought to himself, silently hoping for daylight.
...
A half-hour ago, Rongjin Building, 18th floor, in a room at the end of the corridor, two figures stood with their backs against the door, breathing heavily, the atmosphere was terrifyingly tense.
"It’s still not working, we can’t shake it off." Chen Nang cautiously looked out through the crack in the door before quickly pulling back his gaze.
"I’ve used up my phone, it’s no use. This guy does get attracted to sound, but only temporarily." Naturally, standing on the other side of the door was Jiang Qingluan, who also looked quite disheveled, covered in ash everywhere.
Not long ago, Jiang Qingluan was waiting at the rendezvous point for news from Yang Xiao, when suddenly, she heard a crashing sound that was getting closer and closer.
Realizing sothing was wrong, she didn’t foolishly stand her ground but instead risked peeking out to assess the situation. Thankfully, she did, or she’d have been cornered by the ghost in the room and killed. She saw a ghost with its back to her, constantly banging its head against the door.
As she discovered the ghost, another ghost down the corridor seed to sense sothing, suddenly turned, raised its arms, and started chasing Jiang Qingluan with small, quick steps.
Through the crashing sound and the ghost’s back, Jiang Qingluan imdiately confird the ghost’s identity—it was the Door-knocking Ghost marked earlier by Munan.
According to the clues left by predecessors, this Door-knocking Ghost should be active near the scriptwriter’s room; she didn’t know why it suddenly ca out, worried that sothing might have gone wrong with Yang Xiao.
But now she had no ti to worry about others; she needed to quickly ditch this thing. Yang Yan was also killed by this ghost, they say her entire face was dented and she died a tragic death.
This ghost is as terrifying as the Hanging Ghost and the Waist-breaking Ghost. The most frightening part is that they know very little about it; only that it won’t attack those with a DV cara.
Besides that, they know almost nothing, and tonight she’s facing a completely unknown ghost.
Fortunately, this ghost isn’t that fast, giving Jiang Qingluan a slim chance. While fleeing, she constantly searched for sothing to distract the Door-knocking Ghost, but one after another, her ideas failed.
To make things worse, she soon encountered trouble; through the smoke ahead, she heard a "crackle crackle" sound.
It was another ghost, the Waist-breaking Ghost, which had sohow turned back.
If it were anyone else, they’d feel hopeless by now, but Jiang Qingluan’s eyes lit up—she saw an opportunity.
If she continued being chased like this, it was only a matter of ti before she died at the hands of the Door-knocking Ghost, and it would be soon. The appearance of the Waist-breaking Ghost presented her with a chance.
Knowing that in this mission, the terror of ghosts is hierarchical. Take the Waist-breaking Ghost, for example; whenever it appears, the nearby burnt ghosts disappear. Jiang Qingluan’s idea was to let the Waist-breaking Ghost et the Door-knocking Ghost.
The ideal result is that the Waist-breaking Ghost drives back the Door-knocking Ghost. They had already grasped the murderous approach of the Waist-breaking Ghost, which now posed almost no threat to them.
With this in mind, Jiang Qingluan decisively rushed towards the rustling sound, soon seeing the shadow of the half-body behind the smoke.
Not hesitating, Jiang Qingluan sped up. Knowing this ghost tracks people with the eyes on its back, she quickly crouched down, hugging the ground and sliding past the Waist-breaking Ghost—not to attack it, she’s not that brave, but using inertia to slip past it sideways.
The whole set of actions flowed smoothly; it was partly due to luck, given her body wasn’t in peak condition.
She successfully evaded the block of the Waist-breaking Ghost, but things developed contrary to her expectation. The two ghosts indeed had hierarchical differences, but the one driven back was the Waist-breaking Ghost.
At the mont the two ghosts crossed paths, the Waist-breaking Ghost changed direction and disappeared, while the Door-knocking Ghost continued its original chase, relentlessly pursuing Jiang Qingluan down the smoke-filled corridor.
In a critical mont, Jiang Qingluan took out her phone, turned on the ringtone, and as it rang, it seed to trigger sothing in the Door-knocking Ghost, and its speed of pursuit increased sharply.
Seeing this thod working, Jiang Qingluan decisively threw the phone backward, and simultaneously, the sound of pursuit shifted direction.
But just as she caught her breath, the Door-knocking Ghost caught up once more, evading its sight didn’t work; it seed fixated on her.
But she only had one phone, and there was nothing else she could throw. She tried picking up other things to make noise, but it was futile. The ghost seed only attracted to continuous rhythmic sounds.
And this isn’t a long-term solution; after a mont of hesitation, the ghost would return to its pursuit.
anwhile, Jiang Qingluan faced an even more severe problem. According to the previous terrain reconnaissance, she should have already run out of this area and found a safe passage to return to the 17th floor, but she hadn’t seen the exit until now.
This wasn’t her problem, nor did she misrember or take the wrong route; she had that much confidence. This was the work of the Door-knocking Ghost. It was more troubleso than she had thought and had trapped her in place.
If she didn’t deal with this ghost, even if Yang Xiao successfully left the scriptwriter’s room, he wouldn’t be able to find her.
The turning point ca when Chen Nang appeared, accidentally bumping into each other. But after Chen Nang showed up, the Door-knocking Ghost paused, it stopped in its tracks, gave up its pursuit, and instead started banging its head against the wall.
This scene baffled Jiang Qingluan, but then the Door-knocking Ghost resud its pursuit, and this ti, Jiang Qingluan clearly felt it had changed targets, now going after the new face, Chen Nang.
Chen Nang was baffled too, having no idea what was going on, and just ran with Jiang Qingluan.
Since Jiang Qingluan was already out of breath, she didn’t have the energy to explain and simply led him in the escape.
If this continued, they were bound to be caught. Truthfully, Jiang Qingluan could have lied, tricking Chen Nang into splitting up, diverting the trouble, using Chen Nang as a Substitute Death. Even if Chen Nang was smart, by the ti he realized, it would have been too late, and if Jiang Qingluan successfully left the 18th floor, only Chen Nang and Yang Xiao would remain alive there.
Yang Xiao held a DV cara which could protect him from the Door-knocking Ghost’s assault, aning, for the ghost’s attack criteria, only Chen Nang t them.
And he would surely die.
