Jiushan Cangxuan smiled as he accepted Yang Xiao’s gratitude, then shifted the topic: "After you return this ti, it seems unlikely you’ll be back soon. I have a matter I’d like you to help with, if that’s alright with you."

"Please, Senior, go ahead." At this point, whether it’s appropriate or not doesn’t matter; as long as he doesn’t ask for the Hundred Demons Coffin Clothes, Yang Xiao is willing to offer anything.

Of course, he’s not giving things like the Ghost Bamboo Stick, Wordless Heavenly Scripture, Human Bone Staff, or Ghost Lantern, but he figures Jiushan Cangxuan won’t ask for them.

This man can be considered a gentleman.

"Actually, it’s nothing much. I just heard so rumors in the world of martial arts suggesting you have a good relationship with that Esoteric Cannibal Buddha, correct?" Jiushan Cangxuan inquired.

"I don’t dare to hide it from you, Senior. The High Priest of the Cannibal Buddha has indeed taken care of . If it hadn’t been for his intervention back then, I’d have perished in Myanmar and Thailand." With the Jiu Mountain Family’s intelligence network, finding out about this was not hard, so Yang Xiao admitted it readily; however, he wouldn’t divulge too much detail since it involved Dean Sheng.

Seeing Yang Xiao didn’t conceal the truth, Jiushan Cangxuan nodded in satisfaction and pulled out a letter from his robe, "I have a letter here; I hope you can deliver it to the Cannibal Buddha."

"Rember, you must deliver it to him in person and not pass it through others." Jiushan Cangxuan emphasized.

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiao extended both hands and solemnly took the letter, "Senior, I can help with this, but I’m not sure if I can set off for the Esoteric Sect imdiately upon returning. As you said, my next nightmare mission..."

"No rush. You can deliver the letter within three months; take your ti. But rember, this letter must be delivered personally by you, face to face, and no one else except the Cannibal Buddha should know of its existence." Jiushan Cangxuan reiterated.

"I understand." Yang Xiao stored the letter close to his body, knowing that it was classified. Jiushan Cangxuan approached him because he trusted him enough.

Although Yang Xiao was curious about the contents of the letter, he wouldn’t peek; a entrusted man fulfills the entrusted task with integrity, a principle Yang Xiao upheld.

"Within three months, I will deliver the letter, but the subsequent matters will be beyond my control." Yang Xiao agreed to deliver the letter but made it clear in advance.

He would deliver the letter as required, but once delivered, how the Cannibal Buddha might react or act would be beyond his influence.

He wouldn’t risk his rapport to aid Jiushan Cangxuan; he was aware of his own limitations.

The Cannibal Buddha regarded him highly primarily due to Sutana’s regard; ddling would simply an Yang Xiao didn’t know his place.

Besides, considering that both Jiushan Cangxuan and the Cannibal Buddha were prominent figures—one being the Family Head of Japan’s top family and the foremost Spiritual Apostle, and the other leading one of the four main Yin Temple influences, almost becoming the Yin Temple High Priest—the matters they’re discussing aren’t ones he could intervene in.

However, Yang Xiao has his own suspicions, speculating it relates to the Jiu Mountain Family’s future grand plan; they might want to recruit the Esoteric Sect as an ally.

After all, to overthrow the Ghost Sect, relying solely on the Jiu Mountain Family is lonely; even with the support of so Japanese influences, it wouldn’t suffice. Recruiting a top-level force like the Esoteric Sect would significantly increase their success rate, especially with a master like the Cannibal Buddha, who can alter battlefield dynamics.

Yet Yang Xiao remains curious about the price needed to motivate the Cannibal Buddha. Could the Jiu Mountain Family afford such a bargain?

"Worrying damages your vitality; you need rest." Jiushan Cangxuan suddenly comnted.

Upon hearing this, Yang Xiao’s face turned slightly awkward; he had rely pondered for a while, but Jiushan Cangxuan saw right through him.

Indeed, expressions can deceive, but fluctuations in spiritual power do not, especially when facing one of the world’s top Spiritual Apostles.

Before such a figure, Yang Xiao often felt as if his innermost thoughts were exposed.

The curse has been lifted, and the necessary matters were all communicated. After advising Yang Xiao to rest early, Jiushan Cangxuan took his leave.

After sending off Jiushan Cangxuan, Yang Xiao sat in his chair, his brow furrowed, still pondering over Jiushan Cangxuan’s words.

Recently, too much has happened, leaving him at a loss. Upon returning ho, he would have many issues to address, and the secret eting involving the Half Compassion Purple Body Buddha lood in his mind like a shadow, refusing to dissipate.

"Boom, boom, boom."

The sudden knocking startled Yang Xiao; absorbed in thought, he hadn’t noticed anyone arriving outside.

"Envoy, I brought you a supper." The familiar voice of a Samurai rang from outside.

Yang Xiao approached cautiously and opened the door. Outside stood the familiar Samurai, who placed the food box on the ground before turning to leave. Yang Xiao watched him until he had left the courtyard and disappeared from sight.

Detecting no anomalies, Yang Xiao brought the food box into the room and placed it on the table.

Having been worn out from the ordeal, he was indeed a bit hungry. His stomach growled, and just as Yang Xiao’s fingers touched the box lid about to open it, a sudden shiver ran through him.

He quickly withdrew his hand; upon looking at the food box again, his gaze had changed.

The food box was quite large, akin to a small case, easily accommodating another box inside.

Recollections of finding a script box amidst birthday cake slices still linger vividly, and since then, Yang Xiao had abstained from celebrating birthdays and avoided cake altogether.

"With my luck, surely there’s a script box hidden in the food box?" As he eyed the pitch-black food box, a strong sense of unease rose within Yang Xiao.

Though Jiushan Cangxuan promised to receive the Ghost Script no sooner than three days from now, that applied to ordinary people, and Yang Xiao was anything but ordinary.

Yang Xiao cautiously refrained from opening the food box, and instead shook it gently. Only after hearing the sound of a plate colliding with the food box did he sigh with relief.

Following this, he brought his nose close to the lid’s gap and inhaled deeply; indeed, the aroma of dishes ca through, slling quite delightful.

Now reassured, Yang Xiao opened the food box, finding it filled with hot, steaming dishes.

Yang Xiao diligently opened the box layer by layer to confirm. Then, he extracted all the food and placed the lid back over, moving the food box to the floor.

While eating, Yang Xiao couldn’t help but sigh inwardly, realizing he’d been overly tense recently; it’s not each ti that he’d be that unlucky.

After enjoying the al, the unease within Yang Xiao lessened significantly. He placed the food box back on the table, intending to return the leftovers to it, yet upon opening it again, he was shocked.

The previously empty food box now contained a black-grey box within.

With a "bang," Yang Xiao hurriedly shut the box lid, calming himself for a few seconds before daring another peek.

After further examination, Yang Xiao’s hope faded.

The Ghost Script had eerily arrived, on the day before his planned return ho.

No more wishful thinking; Yang Xiao proficiently lifted the script box, finding its cover revealing a backdrop of chaotic darkness, with a station at its center.

Yang Xiao leaned in for a closer look; it appeared to be a subway station, styled in an old-fashioned manner, quite spacious, but deserted, with only a few dimly lit lights.

An obscured sign, likely a notice board with a line of text, was faintly visible.

Due to the lighting, after straining to discern the text for ten seconds, Yang Xiao made out so characters, undeniably confirming it as a subway station.

"Youjian Mountain Station." Despite having vaguely recognized the line, Yang Xiao felt a creeping unease rather than any excitent.

The na and background imparted an unsettling feeling.
