These people had never encountered an opponent as ferocious as Yang Xiao, who would pull out a gun and fire without saying a word. To be exact, at the mont Yang Xiao drew his gun, several people’s brains just froze.

Unsurprisingly, the three n were successively knocked down by Yang Xiao, their screams echoing through the night. Yang Xiao walked forward, looking at the blond man whose kneecaps had been shattered by two bullets.

The blond man was terrified, dragging his two broken legs and desperately crawling on the ground, leaving behind two dreadful trails of blood. But soon, he could no longer move, as a black leather shoe forcefully stepped on his face.

"I’m sorry! I’m sorry!!" The blond man cried and begged for rcy, loudly pleading, "Please spare , I don’t want to die, I’m just a child!!"

"You are nothing but a beast." Yang Xiao, standing on the blond man’s head, skillfully replaced his magazine. This kind of person would never genuinely repent; he only knew that he was about to die. Good and evil have nothing to do with age; so people are evil to the core.

"Bang! Bang! Bang! Bang!"

"Ahh—ahhh——"

Yang Xiao fired several shots, breaking the blond man’s left and right arms, and shattered his shoulders. Now, even if he recovered, he would only be a cripple.

"Shut your mouth!"

Yang Xiao delivered a fierce kick to the blond man’s head, and the world beca much quieter.

"Making such a noise at night, do the neighbors even sleep anymore? No sense of public decency at all." Yang Xiao turned around and walked toward the other n.

As soon as these words were spoken, the other two n who were wailing ceased their cries instantly, looking at Yang Xiao with eyes filled with fear and a pathetic helplessness, praying he would spare them.

But Yang Xiao was no bodhisattva; he couldn’t muster any sympathy for such vermin. What he could do was raise his gun and stamp out the seeds of evil rcilessly.

"Bang! Bang!"

"Bang! Bang! Bang!"

Blood splattered, and the two n’s heads tilted to the side as they fell to the ground.

Putting away his gun, Yang Xiao had no ti to waste on this trash. He had other matters to attend to. Picking up his backpack, he quickly walked away.

But after a few dozen steps, Yang Xiao seed to rember sothing and turned back. He grabbed the female student who was scared stiff, hiding behind a tree.

"No! Please, no!!" The female student had already cried her face into a ss, the sll of cheap perfu mixed with the stench of urine, making it nauseating.

"I don’t hit won," Yang Xiao said.

The female student was stunned for a mont, and before she could excitedly express her gratitude, she saw Yang Xiao raise his hand.

"Slap!"

"Except beasts."

The female student who was sent flying convulsed a few tis on the ground before passing out.

After dealing with these filthy things, Yang Xiao walked away briskly. He could already hear the faint sound of sirens in the distance, presumably because soone nearby had heard the gunshots and called the police.

Yang Xiao found a narrow path and took out his phone, calling Beibei to tell her about receiving the script from Ghost and to entrust her to investigate the so-called Dongzhou Apartnt.

"Okay, I will look into it right away." After Beibei wrote down the na, Yang Xiao suddenly said, "Wait, there’s one more thing."

Suddenly, Beibei interrupted Yang Xiao, "Wait a mont, there’s an urgent ssage."

About ten seconds later, Beibei hurriedly notified Yang Xiao, "Captain, I just received a ssage about a shooting that occurred near Gem Road Perfu Bay Park. The perpetrator was extrely vicious, firing at least a dozen shots. It happened close to the apartnt where you live; you must not go out."

"Um... I was the one shooting," Yang Xiao replied sowhat awkwardly. "I was just about to tell you."

After listening to Yang Xiao’s explanation of the events, Beibei finally breathed a sigh of relief, "Assault on a police officer, stealing a gun—just say that when the ti cos. There’ll be no problem at all."

"I know," Yang Xiao was not at all flustered, as the benefits of joining the organization were now evident. If a real problem arose, there were people to help manage the aftermath.

"Captain, you really need to be more careful in your actions," Beibei complained.

"I couldn’t hold back for a mont; those little bastards were too wicked. You didn’t see it—I couldn’t restrain myself and ended up being a bit too harsh," Yang Xiao continued to explain.

"No, what I an is you shouldn’t have left them alive at all. Allowing such creatures to grow up—how could that be okay?" Beibei exclaid angrily, slapping the desk. "Why didn’t you shoot them in the head?!"

Yang Xiao: "...I was wrong. Next ti I definitely will."

"Alright, you head off first. Co back to the office. I’ll report this incident, but it’s a minor issue. Your new mission is what’s important," Beibei hung up the phone in a huff.

By the ti Yang Xiao took a detour and arrived at the office, the others were already there: Beibei, Da Xiong, and Zhuge Zhijie were all helping out.

When Beibei saw Yang Xiao enter, she imdiately stood up with so good news, "Captain, we’ve found information on Dongzhou Apartnt."

"That fast?" Yang Xiao was sowhat surprised.

Turning from the computer, Zhuge Zhijie faced him, still looking half-dead with his ssy hair, as if he had just been dragged out of bed by Beibei and the others, "This Dongzhou Apartnt is quite infamous locally, with many bizarre incidents over the past decades, including so unimaginable tragedies. Local people widely believe it’s haunted by evil ghosts and that it has been abandoned for a long ti."

"This is information sent from a local departnt." Zhuge Zhijie picked up a few printed sheets from the table.

Since it was a notoriously haunted building, local authorities would certainly not have ignored it; the fact that the issue remained unresolved to this point indicated that whatever was inside must be extrely difficult to handle.

The information was quite detailed. According to the report, the Dongzhou Apartnt was an unmistakably old building, existing even before the founding of the nation, and had been invested in and built by a wealthy businessman surnad Li. The building had changed hands several tis due to the war, and the history of its various owners in between was now lost.

These were just the formalities, which Yang Xiao skimd over. What he was really looking for was a starting point, a point in ti when the paranormal events began.

He found it quickly—it was about 30 years ago that the old apartnt started to accrue rumors of being haunted.

Several tragedies from that ti were listed below.

There were tenants who were burned to death in a fire one night, a family of three; the bodies were charred and a ghastly sight to behold. What was odd was that there was no fire in the apartnt that night.

Furthermore, the three charred bodies were each lying on their beds, without any signs of struggle or contortion, their postures natural and peaceful, as if they were asleep.

The most terrifying detail was that the bodies were still covered with intact blankets.

There were no signs of fire in the room, and the electrical circuits and appliances were all functioning normally. There was even a basin of water on the floor of the master bedroom.

According to the neighbor interviews, nobody nearby had heard any cries for help that night, nor had they slled anything burning.

At the end, there was a photo included, and although the print was not very clear, it still showed two charred human figures lying on the bed, their postures serene, covered with blankets.

The victims were tenants of the apartnt, a couple who had co from out of town to do business. They also had a ten-year-old son, who slept in the adjacent small bedroom and perished with them.
