The shadow kept moving closer to Yang Xiao’s shadow, clearly aiming to repeat the trick and strangle him to death. Yang Xiao couldn’t understand why it didn’t just use the nearby gun and crossbow arrow, which would be more straightforward.

Even taking out the Ghost Lantern to disperse the ghostly shadow was useless now; the middle-aged man in front of him would kill him too. Suddenly feeling an ice-cold sensation from his pocket, Yang Xiao seed to rember sothing, and at the instant the ghostly shadow reached for his neck, he pulled out the copper mirror from his pocket. The next second, the middle-aged man only saw a blur, and Yang Xiao’s figure vanished instantly.

"You might escape, but can your friends do the sa?"

The middle-aged man seed to know Yang Xiao could hear him and turned around to go grab Zhuge Zhijie and Xi nxiu, who were hiding in the room, to force him to show himself. Suddenly, the room door burst open, and Xi nxiu rushed out with Zhuge Zhijie, "Captain, don’t be afraid, we’re here to help..."

Xi nxiu hadn’t finished shouting before the middle-aged man kicked him back into the room, along with Zhuge Zhijie behind him.

Just as a chilling glint flashed in the middle-aged man’s eyes, planning to finish them off, the next second, his figure also disappeared instantly.

In the Mirror World, Yang Xiao was panting heavily. He hadn’t expected that in his mont of desperation, he could actually pull the middle-aged man into the Mirror World too. Unfortunately, he still wasn’t adept at controlling this strange power, and he had no idea where he had sent the man.

However, it was fortunate that Xi nxiu and Zhuge Zhijie were saved. He slowly got up from the ground; the severe pain in his chest was bearable, but the incessant throbbing in his head was the real horror. Just the act of pulling soone in had nearly drained half of his spiritual power.

He wasn’t sure how much longer he could hold on. The priority now was to find that guy and kill him as quickly as possible.

Returning to the real world, he picked up the handgun and magazine. With a gun in hand, Yang Xiao felt much more at ease.

Using his familiarity with the Mirror World, Yang Xiao quickly found the middle-aged man hiding in a room. He appeared behind him without a sound, fired first, but what happened next was completely unexpected—the handgun jamd.

No, it hadn’t just jamd; it was more like it had rusted shut. No matter how hard he tried, the trigger wouldn’t budge. He imdiately threw the useless thing at the man’s face, then reached back with his other hand for the Green Lantern. This ti Yang Xiao was all in; if he didn’t kill this man, he wouldn’t live to see another day.

The ghostly shadow moved with extre speed in the dim room, and just as it was about to touch Yang Xiao’s shadow, the Green Lantern appeared. This object was extrely effective against the ghostly shadow, and under the green, oily light of the candle, the ghostly shadow instantly dispersed. But the next second, the middle-aged man’s fist arrived; Yang Xiao couldn’t dodge in ti and was struck hard in the chest, stumbling backward and spewing out a mouthful of blood.

It was clear the middle-aged man was a trained fighter; his punch was powerful and heavy. As he closed in quickly, elbow forward, the ensuing elbow strike aid for the heart was bound to be lethal. If it landed, Yang Xiao’s life would be over.

Using the last of his strength, Yang Xiao twisted his body and narrowly avoided the blow. He feigned a move and reached with two fingers of his left hand towards the man’s eyes. It was too obvious, and the man didn’t even bother to dodge. He parried Yang Xiao’s left arm and struck out with a palm, hitting Yang Xiao squarely in the chest.

Yang Xiao staggered backward, his body already unsteady. But it didn’t matter anymore; he had achieved his goal. Raising his right hand, he swung at the man coming at him with a clenched fist, and the silver horsetail whisk in his hand spread thousands of threads in the air, gently brushing against the man.

In an instant, flesh and blood dissolved, and the man’s body fell apart, deconstructed in mid-air, like a basin of splashed murky blood water.

The middle-aged man’s body was laid open across a dark space of more than ten square feet, filled with twisted bones and flesh. These were covered in dense blood vessels and a heart wrapped in blue tendons, hanging alone on a bedside rail, still beating tirelessly.

Half a face rged with the tabletop, the head was facing the bed, positioned perfectly to see its own beating heart. The head opened its mouth wide, emitting a desperate and chilling howl.
