In the midst of pain, Sha ihui turned the muzzle around. Wen Chongxian tried to grab Sha ihui’s gun-wielding right hand, but it was too late. After two shots, one grazed Sha ihui’s own face and hit the room’s ceiling, while the other wounded Wen Chongxian’s left arm.

"You bitch, die!" Wen Chongxian swung his right arm and smashed his elbow into Sha ihui’s face, snatching the gun and pressing it against her stomach. His eyes filled with murderous intent, he pulled the trigger, but to his surprise, no bullet fired—the gun was out of bullets.

The ti was nearing midnight. Wen Chongxian threw down the gun and quickly started crawling toward the room door. He wanted to get out of there, since according to Yang Xiao’s previous analysis, if there were no phone calls tonight, the ghost would co looking for Sha ihui, and he didn’t want to be an innocent casualty.

Actually, he had also been impulsive. Regardless of whether the gun was loaded or not, he shouldn’t have pointed it at Sha ihui. If he had really killed her, it probably would have displeased Wang Zhongli, since he had waited too long for this day.

He crawled as fast as he could, but soone was quicker than him. Behind him ca the sound of a bullet being chambered, and when he turned his head, he saw Sha ihui, her face covered in blood and her nose askew, staggeringly standing up with the gun in her hand.

As he saw Sha ihui casually throw away an empty magazine, Wen Chongxian panicked. He hadn’t expected Sha ihui to carry a spare magazine.

"Phew!"

A bullet whizzed past his scalp, scaring Wen Chongxian stiff. Fortunately, the shot went wide—after taking so many hard blows, Sha ihui could barely stand steady.

At this mont, crawling to the room door a few ters away was like being a sitting duck, a certain death. Therefore, before the second shot was fired, Wen Chongxian decisively ramd open the bathroom door and quickly crawled inside, but he was still a step too slow and got shot in the buttocks.

Left arm, right leg, buttocks—after being shot several tis, Wen Chongxian was a ss of tears and snot. He hadn’t expected being shot to hurt so much, after all, he had seen in war dramas where the female lead would still be tough enough to talk about love with the male lead even after getting shot.

Sha ihui, leaning against the wall, staggered over. The bathroom door was already locked. She roughly estimated Wen Chongxian’s position and fired through the door.

The bullet didn’t hit Wen Chongxian hiding behind the wall, but it shattered the mirror. The fragnts flew, cutting Wen Chongxian’s face.

In at most another minute, once Sha ihui forced open this already flimsy wooden door, it would be his end.

"Open the door, and I’ll spare your life!" Sha ihui’s voice changed, obviously because she had lost two front teeth.

"Go to hell!" Wen Chongxian cursed fiercely. Now, he had nothing to lose. Even if he was to die today, he’d drag this bitch down with him.

"Phew!" His response was yet another gunshot.

But the next second, Wen Chongxian’s body trembled—suddenly, he heard a cell phone ringtone starting up just outside the door.

Sha ihui’s phone was ringing.

"Bang!"

It was the sound of a phone crashing to the ground. Sha ihui had thrown her phone, and then there was the sound of her kicking and stomping on it.

Then, multiple ringtones started ringing out in the room at the sa ti, and the pace of these tones was accelerating like notes urging death upon soone.

It was those previously smashed phones—all the broken phones had started ringing at once.

The ghost had arrived...

Wen Chongxian didn’t dare to move an inch, crouching in the bathroom, while Sha ihui’s desperate screams ca from outside the door.

Sha ihui, who had run out of the room, stood in the hallway with eyes wide open in terror. She saw... saw a distorted human form inverted at the end of the hallway, on the ceiling, stepping closer and closer to her.

The figure was wearing a blue skirt and red high heels, with damp long hair hanging loose, covering half the face. Through the moist hair, one could barely see the bloodshot eye staring dead at her, filled with resentnt so chilling it was horrifying.

It was him!

It definitely was him!

The scene delivered an unprecedented shock to Sha ihui; biting her tongue fiercely, she intended to run back the way she ca. There was still a living person in the room—that was her last chance.

But when Sha ihui rushed to the bathroom door and forcefully knocked it open, she was dumbfounded. First, she didn’t expect the door to be so fragile and second... the second thing was that the bathroom was empty!

Where was he?

Sha ihui was bewildered. Where was Wen Chongxian? He had been shot several tis and was seriously injured. There was still blood in the corner, but the person had vanished as if he had disappeared into thin air.

anwhile, from Wen Chongxian’s perspective, the scene in front of him was equally incomprehensible. He heard a series of intense footsteps, followed by the door being knocked open. Just when he thought he was about to get shot, he realized there was no sign of Sha ihui.

What was even more bizarre was that he could hear footsteps and Sha ihui’s heavy breathing. He could feel that Sha ihui was right in front of him!

Invisible, yet right in front of him—that was even more terrifying!

Wen Chongxian’s first instinct was that Sha ihui had died and had beco a Fierce Ghost to seek revenge on him. At that mont, the little courage he had left dissipated. He was just an ordinary person; he hugged himself, only wanting to go ho.

At the sa ti, Sha ihui, who could not find Wen Chongxian anywhere, was also stupefied. Then, a chill swept through her body in an instant. She rushed over to the window and yanked open the heavy blackout curtains, only to see the world outside deluged with heavy rain.

The curtain of rain isolated everything, swallowing up the nearby skyscrapers; it seed as if the whole world had narrowed down to just her and the steadily approaching Wang Zhongli.

She turned her head and fixed her gaze intently on the door, raising the muzzle of her gun. It was impossible for her to sit still and await death. She was waiting for the mont Wang Zhongli appeared.

The hallway was eerily silent.

"Drip."

A drop of water landed on Sha ihui’s face, leaving a bone-chilling coldness. She instinctively looked up, facing the shattered face hanging upside down from the ceiling.

The next second, a dim yellow light shone from behind, dazzling her so much that she couldn’t open her eyes. An old blue truck burst through the curtain of rain from outside, unobstructed, passing through the window and hitting Sha ihui, sending her flying.

Sha ihui was not dead; she was hanging on by a thread. Her hair was caught by a hand, and she was dragged step by step into the bathroom.

Her eyes were obscured by blood; she could hardly see anything, barely making out that the person dragging her was wearing a blue skirt.

"Tap."

"Tap."

"Tap."

The high heels struck the ground one after the other, making a dull sound. The steps were neither hurried nor slow, yet to Sha ihui’s ears, the sound was the final judgent of her life.

"Kill ... please... just kill ..."

Lying on the ground, Sha ihui knew she could not escape death and squeezed out a weak plea. But no one cared about these words. In the bathroom, Wen Chongxian, who had no idea what was happening, didn’t dare to breathe; huddled in a corner, he saw a sharp piece of a mirror rise from the ground, wavering as if controlled by an invisible Ghost hand. Then, the mirror swiftly stabbed downward, corresponding with Sha ihui’s screams from below.

Next, the angle of the mirror shard changed again; it moved up and down, trembling non-stop. The inhuman screams that mixed with the sounds of fabric being torn apart made Wen Chongxian shiver with fear.

Wen Chongxian covered his mouth tightly, his body trembling like a leaf. From his angle, he could just see a piece of a smartphone screen fallen at the bathroom door.

Through the screen’s reflection, he saw a twisted Ghost hand pulling Sha ihui’s hair and lifting her up, using the mirror shard like a spoon to scrape flesh.

Over and over, the Ghost hand moved slowly; the flayed skin dangled underneath like unbroken pencil shavings, spilling blood as the body convulsed.
