"It should work, otherwise no one else would have the guts to go head-to-head with the Resentnt Sect. The female evil cultivator they caught last ti wasn’t weak either, and besides, there is... there is also the mysterious cadre of the Resentnt Sect, Emperor Ye Xiao. He was able to snatch people right from Qu Muzhi’s hands. Captain, think about it, without Qu Muzhi present, who would dare provoke him?" Xi nxiu said quite naturally.

"That’s true," Yang Xiao recalled, if not for Qu Muzhi, he alone would have been enough to annihilate the entire investigative team of the City Center Official Residence.

After hanging up the phone, Yang Xiao grew even more puzzled about the identities of the other three. However, as long as they were not brothers from the Patrol Defense Office, it was fine; otherwise, in the heat of battle, accidentally injuring one’s own would be bad.

Resting until 11:15, Yang Xiao first took out the Drama Robe and paid his respects, then he wore it close to his body, put his own clothes over it, donned a mask, and shouldered his backpack before heading out into the night. Along the way, he saw no one, but he could keenly sense nurous sharp gazes hiding in the dark places nearby, watching him. These must be the people from Ru Lin Academy.

These gazes rely watched without much malice, and he walked all the way back to that sa small square, in the center of which stood an enigmatic building made of black stone blocks, the very Contemplation Pavilion.

The defense force nearby was the strongest, and Yang Xiao even vaguely felt a hidden power spying on him. However, he couldn’t pinpoint the location of the other party, who felt very, very far away. It was no wonder that the Ru Lin Academy had stood for so long; it indeed had masters in residence. This person’s level was a great deal higher than Yang Xiao’s.

The entrance he used this ti was different; it was A Gate. Yang Xiao found the passage with the A Gate wooden sign hanging, and he rang the bell in front of the gate.

Just like the last ti, Yang Xiao was led by an old man into the passage, through an old wooden door, and into the world behind the door.

After the strange sensation of weightlessness ended, he was greeted by a bright glare. Yang Xiao stumbled and steadied himself, initially unable to adapt as various sounds gradually reached his ears—music, laughter, cheers... All sorts of noises were jumbled together, occasionally accompanied by the humming of heavy machinery.

A dozen or so seconds later, Yang Xiao’s eyes adjusted to the surrounding light. He found himself in a large tent resembling a Mongolian yurt, with furry carpet under his feet. In the center of the tent stood a 3-ter-tall Christmas tree adorned with countless strings of small colorful lights, with gift boxes and cute animal toys below it.

The tent was empty except for him. After calming himself, Yang Xiao walked to the tent’s door flap and lifted it slightly to peer outside. The next second, his pupils constricted sharply. The outside was bustling with activity, filled with the joyful laughter from the warm rry-go-round and the piercing screams from the roller coaster in the distance. Various colored lights made the nightti scene extraordinarily dazzling. It was a highly popular amusent park.

"How did you get in there? Co out, it’s not ti for the lucky draw yet!" Just as Yang Xiao was observing, a woman dressed like a staff mber outside discovered him and asked him to co out.

Yang Xiao did not resist or even speak. As he approached the woman, he saw an ID tag on her chest that read ’Kongling Mountain Amusent Park.’

It seed that this amusent park was the location for his mission this ti. Compared to the last mission at the fishing village, this amusent park was much larger and the setting was more realistic, already resembling the Nightmare World described in the Ghost Script.

Standing in the middle of the road and feeling surrounded by the crowd, Yang Xiao found himself sowhat dazed for a mont. These people were too real—the couples snuggled up to each other, the young couples pushing baby strollers, and the middle-aged man constantly telling his children to run slower—all had happy smiles on their faces.

The vendors’ hawking intermingled with people’s laughter, all so real. Yang Xiao couldn’t help sniffing as the aroma of grilled sausages from a nearby stall wafted over, making him feel quite hungry.

But reason told him that this was the Nightmare World, and that everything he saw was false. He could be certain that within this seemingly prosperous and vibrant amusent park, a ghost lay hidden.

Yang Xiao paid close attention to each person passing by him. Regardless of how innocent these people appeared and how radiant their smiles, the ghost might be among them.

At that mont, an announcent ca over the loudspeakers, sounding like they had gone years without maintenance, not very clear and sowhat hoarse: "Kongming Mountain Amusent Park welcos all visitors, and we ask that everyone pays attention to safety while having fun. Look after your own children, siblings, parents, as well as elder relatives such as grandparents and great-grandparents. If anyone is lost, please be sure to contact our park’s broadcast station imdiately. I’ll repeat, if anyone is lost, please contact our park’s broadcast station imdiately. We wish you all an enjoyable ti and hope you have an unforgettable night..."

Yang Xiao tuned out the rest of the trivial announcent, his brows slowly furrowing as certain parts of the broadcast caught his attention.

It made sense for an amusent park, a large, comprehensive entertainnt venue, to emphasize safety. But the wording of the announcent was strange. He could understand taking care of one’s children, but to look after siblings, parents, grandparents, and other adult relatives? Could they really get lost?

Moreover, the amusent park seed overly concerned with people getting lost, ntioning it twice in the announcent. It was sowhat excessive.
