"So, do you want to go in and take a look?"

Looking at Snow White who was eating heartily, Charon asked once again.

"..." Snow White looked at Charon, then at the door.

"Um… this… I… I'll go in together with everyone later."

Ah, she chickened out again.

Charon couldn't help but smile wryly. He had thought that once her ntal knot was resolved, she would gather the courage to sneak in first, but she still shrank back. Maybe she didn't want to be judged for going in alone, or maybe she was simply shy.

"Alright then, I'll go greet her for you first." Charon smiled.

"Um… sir, you should be careful. Sister… Lady Liliweiss doesn't have much patience with ordinary people…" Snow White said hesitantly, "N-not that I an Sister dislikes you! You helped her, so her attitude will definitely… um…"

Her voice grew smaller and smaller. In her eyes, Liliweiss had always been soone who never showed much warmth toward others. That wasn't hard to understand–after all, she had practically been holding the entire Goddess Squad together while dealing with the human governnt.

Strength was important, but if you didn't want things to escalate into a full break, political gas still had to be played.

Fortunately, with Andersen's assistance, Liliweiss had not fallen into a disadvantage in that ga.

There had once been attempts to force the Goddess Squad into rebellion. The process is not worth detailing, but the result was that soone resigned and disappeared, and the Goddess Squad's funding increased to a certain extent.

Because of that, Liliweiss was already ntally exhausted. Toward ordinary people, she could only manage a forced smile–sothing even the innocent Snow White could clearly see.

"Don't worry, I know how to deal with her." Charon chuckled. "Maybe you don't know this, but I'm actually one of her earliest fans."

"I-I am too!" Snow White imdiately perked up. "I'm also one of the earliest!"

"Quite the coincidence. Then we're fan friends." Charon winked. "Right?"

"People who like Sister are all good people! Okay, I'll wait at the door. If Sister says sothing not-so-nice… I-I'll co in and help you!"

Snow White clenched her fists. Her little mouth was covered in chocolate sauce, and her pink tongue kept licking it off, unwilling to waste even a bit.

Seeing this, Charon felt like feeding her more. This child clearly hadn't eaten properly in a long ti.

As expected, the fastest way to build friendship is to make sure soone is well fed.

"Alright, alright. Then I'll thank you in advance."

Charon turned and opened the door, stepping inside.

Snow White pressed against the door crack, nervously peeking inside. Only then did she realize that Liliweiss on the bed had not yet woken up, and she quietly breathed a sigh of relief.

Seeing this, Charon pulled up a chair and sat by the bedside. His eyes imdiately fell on a familiar beginner dagger placed on the bedside table.

He hadn't held it in a long ti–the feel was already almost forgotten. Feeling a bit playful, he flicked his fingers, and the dagger began spinning rapidly between his fingers.

He was actually showing off tricks.

Snow White's heartbeat instantly accelerated.

Pure panic.

That was Sister's reverse scale! Sir, don't touch that–you'll die, seriously!

There had been countless tis when even their teammates had rely shown slight intent to touch that dagger, and Liliweiss's eyes would instantly beco hollow, the atmosphere turning heavy and suffocating. At that mont, the person would imdiately put it down and flee.

So far, no one had ever truly tried to take it–because no one wanted to be pinned to the ground by the strongest Nikke.

Snow White really wanted to rush in and drag this reckless man out, but any sudden movent might wake Sister on the bed. She was stuck–unable to move forward, unable to stay still.

However, Charon's tricks were only nostalgia for his past use of the blade. Soon he firmly gripped the handle again, and then–without anyone noticing–produced an apple from nowhere.

Just like many years ago, when he first visited her after a dical examination. Sitting by her hospital bed, he began peeling the apple. His knife skills were still flawless–the long peel spiraled down continuously.

Outside the door, Snow White was practically drooling. Apples–red apples–she hadn't seen them for who knows how many years. Did this place even grow fruit?

Answer: no.

Wait–he's actually using Sister's most precious weapon to peel fruit?! It's over–he left traces this ti, he's dood!

She couldn't hold back anymore. If she didn't act, the kind man feeding her would be turned into minced at by Sister. She would just take responsibility herself.

She opened the door–

And saw the woman on the bed's eyelids move.

Her eyes slowly opened, and she t Snow White's gaze.

Panic.

But Liliweiss did not glare at the person holding her weapon as she usually would, nor did she show hostility. Instead, her eyes widened slightly–and then she smiled softly.

She did not get up or speak. She simply watched the figure calmly peeling the apple. Her once slightly cloudy eyes–due to exhaustion and approaching death–were now as clear as a blue sky after rain.

At that mont, the perfect apple peel suddenly broke.

Charon sighed, picked it up, threw it into the trash, and continued.

Only after finishing, slicing the apple and placing it on a plate, did he speak softly:

"You're awake?"

"Mm." Liliweiss replied calmly, lips slightly pressed.

"How are you feeling?"

Charon held out a piece of apple to her lips. "Open."

Liliweiss obediently opened her mouth, her eyes curved into gentle crescents.

"Very comfortable," she said. Her gaze beca almost tender, as if trying to engrave his figure into her soul. "I haven't felt this relaxed in a very, very long ti, Commander."

"Co… com… com–" Snow White finally snapped back to reality, stuttering and pointing at him. "Commander?!"

"Snow White, you're here too?" Liliweiss said in mild surprise, sitting up slightly, her cheeks faintly flushed. "Could you help raise the bed? I don't have much strength right now. Hehe."

Snow White obediently did so–but she would never forget that expression for the rest of her life.

Sister… had never looked this relaxed before.
