Thanks to Charon's "rcy," the Nikkes were granted a week-long buffer period.

And because Charon had specifically emphasized that this ti was ant for rest, every Nikke was required to do sothing that would help relax both body and mind, so they could face the weakened version of Liliweiss–one that might still wipe them out in under five minutes–in their best possible condition.

Although Phase One of Shore Base was still an industrial-style underground facility, the hospital ward area was surprisingly comfortable. The area itself wasn't large, but it could still simulate environnts to a certain extent. Whenever she had free ti, Charon would make Liliweiss sit in a wheelchair here and enjoy the simulated afternoon sunlight.

After three hours of code adjustnts by Sleeping Beauty, the simulation effects had beco almost indistinguishable from reality. You could even hear insects chirping and birds singing, while the PWM fresh-air system made the breeze brushing against one's face incomparably pleasant.

"This place is amazing, Commander." Liliweiss tilted her head back and opened her mouth slightly.

Right on cue, a slice of orange was placed into her mouth.

There was no helping it. Even the current Shore Base couldn't spare enough room for orchards. Charon could only rely on his abilities to scavenge fresh fruits or canned fruits with long shelf lives.

Fortunately, there were quite a few resource points around. After sweeping through the surrounding facilities, they gathered all kinds of fresh fruit. So high-quality seeds were carefully preserved, while the fruits themselves were made into fruit platters and shared with everyone.

In this era, fruit was a luxury among luxuries, and the Nikkes had finally indulged themselves properly.

Especially Liliweiss.

The fruits Charon saved for her were all especially large and juicy, and she was absolutely enjoying herself.

"We Nikkes wouldn't die even if we stayed awake for an entire week."

"Ah, I'm so jealous. I want to beco a Nikke too."

Now it was finally Liliweiss's turn to look confused.

"Just kidding…" Charon laughed awkwardly, fully aware that was impossible. Then he raised his head slightly. "Rose, are you there?"

[I'm here.]

"So convenient…" Liliweiss smiled.

[If you know I'm convenient, then call for more often, Senpai. I still have sooo many things I want to talk to you about.]

"I figured you were busy building the simulation chamber with Snow White."

[As if that would stop . Senpai, I hope you understand sothing. I, Sleeping Beauty, possess computational power directly converted from your strength. In the digital world, I'm basically the prototype unit itself. Understand?]

"I don't." Liliweiss smiled. "Then Rose, can you control too?"

[You really know how to give difficult questions, Senpai. If you had NIMPH, I could brainwash you into becoming my kohai right now.]

"Hey." Charon imdiately spoke up. "If you pull sothing like that without permission, don't bla if I beat you up."

[I-it was just a joke…]Rose's voice shrank slightly. [I won't do it, really! To alter NIMPH, I'd need access to NIMPH-related equipnt. That stuff is top-secret property of the United Forces, and the machines are completely offline the entire ti. I have no way to touch them.]

'She didn't say it was impossible…'

Liliweiss narrowed her eyes silently.

"So you an that if I got you that equipnt, you'd be able to reverse-engineer the NIMPH source code and fully control it?"

[I don't know. I still don't truly understand what NIMPH actually is. But Red Hood's corruption code can give so clues. To explain it in a way normal people can understand, corruption code is basically "construction blueprints" to us–a set of instructions capable of affecting NIMPH effectively, even if we don't fully understand the principles behind it yet.]

"So, understanding the result but not the underlying reason." Charon summarized.

[Exactly. Without access to the NIMPH source code, I can't truly modify it. Unless… I can directly connect to the equipnt itself.]

"Then what about corruption?" Liliweiss asked. "Can you handle that?"

[Of course. I'm currently analyzing the corruption code. Once that's done, I'll be able to patch NIMPH directly. At that point, corruption will only retain its outward appearance while becoming completely harmless underneath.]

"But the original corruption and the current corruption aren't the sa anymore," Charon said. "Couldn't the Raptures continuously evolve it?"

[Hmm… then I'd have to examine each infection one by one. But for the current , the principles behind corruption code are already fully understood. Reading and suppressing evolved corruption based on this code would only take a few seconds at most. If it's an early-stage version, I wouldn't even need one second.]

Charon nodded with satisfaction.

"Still, I have a suggestion." Charon crossed his arms. "Is there any possibility you could write anti-corruption code and brainwash the Raptures into becoming Nikkes instead?"

[I was joking earlier… Fine. I can't guarantee success, but I can try.]

[Oh right, Commander. You know Snow White is working with right now, right? That girl has already been working nonstop for eighteen hours. She should've rested ages ago, but no matter how much I try to persuade her, she won't listen. Want to try talking to her yourself?]

That topic change was fast enough to be suspicious.

Looks like Rose really had considered the idea before, but everything was still in its early stages. Whether it could actually be applied in real combat would depend on future research. After all, as amazing as she was, her skill tree was overwhelmingly specialized toward hacking and infiltration.

"That child…" Liliweiss smiled helplessly as she rolled her wheelchair closer to the tea table and picked up a plate of apples. "Commander, tell her to stop pushing herself so hard. If she refuses to listen, tell her it's my order. If she still won't rest, I'll confiscate her toolbox."

"No problem." Charon was free anyway. He had only wandered over here in the first place.

"Then I'll continue sunbathing for a while longer. Good afternoon, Commander."

After speaking, Liliweiss adjusted the angle of her chair backrest, leaned back, closed her eyes, and began drifting into sleep.
