After dinner, under the night sky, Shi Feng stood in the courtyard with Long Chen.

"Coming over during dinner ti, what did you need from ?" Now that it was just him and Long Chen, Shi Feng didn’t beat around the bush, and he asked directly.

Originally, Long Chen’s actions tonight would have irritated Shi Feng, but seeing how happy his mother was flattered by him, that was a good thing.

And since his mother lived with him, no matter what his intentions were, he did indeed treat her very well.

Then Shi Feng asked, "Today that Pri Minister ca over, nothing bad happened, right?"

"No worries," Long Chen replied, "he’s my elder brother’s man. He has wanted to do sothing to for a long ti, but what could he actually do to ? At most, he would go to my Father Emperor to complain that I’m harboring the murderer who crippled his son, but his son was already notorious in the Imperial City, full of evildoings, I can handle it. I indeed have several matters for coming to see you."

Long Chen said, "I’ve told my ntor, Nalan Yuan, about Zhang Hu and Zhao Long’s advancent under your guidance. ntor now knows you’re living in my mansion, and tomorrow just happens to be his seventieth birthday. He would like to invite you to join."

"If he wants my guidance, just say he wants my guidance directly, what’s all this about a birthday and attending?" Shi Feng said disdainfully, "It’s that Nine-star Martial King you ntioned today, right? I can help him break through to Martial Sect."

"Really!" Long Chen was startled after hearing Shi Feng’s words. Nalan Yuan had been stuck in the Nine-star Martial King Realm for decades, unable to break through the bottleneck for a year.

But Long Chen felt Shi Feng spoke too lightly, too confidently. That tone, as if breaking through from Nine-star Martial King was as easy as eating a bowl of white rice, made Long Chen feel it was sowhat unreliable.

"Do you think I’m the type to boast without substance?" Shi Feng asked. It was only a breakthrough from Martial King to Martial Sect after all. Think about the disciples he had taught back in the day, which one of them wasn’t a figure who had shaken the Tianheng Continent?

Long Chen originally wanted to say "Yes," but upon further thought, wasn’t that what this young man always did? Countless tis he seed to be bragging, overestimating himself, yet just as many tis, he had achieved the extraordinary, proving himself and shocking those who doubted him.

Long Chen himself had been that doubter several tis and been shocked on nurous occasions.

"If you truly can help my ntor to break through, he will definitely be very grateful to you," Long Chen said.

"What’s with this gratitude and non-gratitude? No need for that. There’s no free lunch in this world, I don’t know your whoever very well; bring out sothing substantial," Shi Feng said.

"That is only natural, I will inform the old man right away that you can aid him in breaking through!" Long Chen said.

"Mhm," Shi Feng nodded, "Tell that old geezer that if he wants to reach the sect level, he must pay a corresponding price."

"Uh..." Long Chen was montarily taken aback, then shook his head with a wry smile. In the Yunlai Empire, probably only he would dare to refer to ntor Nalan Yuan as an old geezer.

Afterward, Long Chen spoke again, "Apart from my ntor’s matter, there’s another thing. This evening, a woman ca with one of my tokens. The guards said that the woman was arranged by you to co to our mansion?"

"Yes, that was ," Shi Feng nodded. "Is there a problem?"

"That woman is not a problem, but she brought a paralyzed elderly man with her. I happened to see them by chance, and if I’m not mistaken, that elderly man must be Yee Wuxie, the forr King of the South of our Yunlai Empire. I had seen him once when I was very little, but then it was rumored he suddenly disappeared, and thereafter the military power in the south was entirely taken over by his adoptive son, who is the current Prince Consort, Shi Jintian," Long Chen said.

"Shi Jintian’s adoptive father? That is sowhat interesting," Shi Feng remarked.

"Back then, there were rumors that Yee Wuxie was heartless and ruthless, a very cruel man, a Three-star Martial King. The only person closest to him was Shi Jintian, and many suspected his disappearance was related to Shi Jintian," Long Chen continued.

"Let’s go see him," Shi Feng said.

"Mhm, let’s go," Long Chen nodded.

Following that, the two went out of the courtyard together.

In a secluded corner of the northwestern part of Prince Chenn’s Mansion, within a quiet and desolate courtyard, a few oil lamps shone inside a room, with the light of the flas reflecting out from the white paper of the mahogany window fras.

In the neatly simple room, on a mahogany bed, an elderly man’s upper body was slightly raised, supported by a square, high pillow; a young man in white sat beside the elderly man, holding a porcelain bowl filled with white porridge in his right hand and a porcelain spoon in his left. Each ti he scooped a little porridge with the spoon, he would gently blow on it before carefully feeding the elderly man.

The old man’s white hair was dull, much like straw, his complexion waxy yellow, crisscrossed with deep wrinkles like ravines, covered in age spots, with eyes vacant and listless, looking much like a man on the verge of death.

"Grandfather, it’s dangerous outside; we will stay here for now," the girl said softly, feeding the old man his porridge.

This girl, who had been mistaken by Shi Feng for soone else, encountered on the street and saved from Zhao Zhixin’s harassnt.

After speaking, the old man displayed no change, utterly motionless, moving only when porridge touched his lips. Whether or not the elderly man was listening to her or could even hear, the girl who looked neither dead nor alive continued, "Grandfather, I’ll go later to thank the young master who saved today. You stay here by yourself for a while; Ying’er will co back soon to take care of you, okay?"

The old man remained motionless; if not for the fact that his eyes were still open, one might think he was already dead.

After finishing speaking, the girl called Ying’er placed the bowl and spoon aside, took out a white silk handkerchief from her sleeve, and gently wiped the old man’s mouth.

"Knock knock knock!" Suddenly, there was a knocking on the door.

"Coming," the girl responded softly, then tucked away the handkerchief and walked toward the door.

Upon opening, the girl saw the young, familiar, and handso face. Surprised, she quickly said, "Benefactor, it’s actually you! I was about to go and properly thank you for saving my life today."

Then she noticed Long Chen standing beside Shi Feng and quickly greeted him, "I am Yu Ying, and I bid good evening to Your Highness the Fourth Prince."

Seeing Yu Ying greeting him, Long Chen hurriedly said, "Miss Wei need not be so formal; since you are a guest of Young Master Feng, you are also a distinguished guest to . I have co with Young Master Feng to visit Miss Wei and the elderly gentleman. I hope you are comfortable staying at my place?"

"Everything is fine," Yu Ying said. "The Prince and Young Master Feng are considerate. Please, co inside and have a seat."
