Now reading: Chapter 155: Ten Thousand Ghosts Order from Nine Nether Heavenly Emperor, a Eastern novel by Awesome.

Led by Dark Evil, Shi Feng and Zi Ya followed behind him. Gradually, a structure made of loess appeared before their eyes.

By the looks of its outline, it was a yellow wall, with an elliptical entrance in the center.

Such structures were not uncommon to Shi Feng since his arrival in the Northwest; they were usually found in so of the more backward villages or small towns.

And judging by the extent of this yellow wall, this should be a small town.

"There really are houses inside, I wonder if anyone lives there," Zi Ya remarked as she looked ahead.

Through the yellow wall and the elliptical entrance, they could see a row of ramshackle houses made of loess inside.

There must have been residents... ghosts!

But with Zi Ya’s Soul Power, even if she did see a ghost, she probably wouldn’t be able to perceive it.

As the three of them approached, the already cold earth suddenly turned colder, and even the sky darkened further.

Gusts of chilly wind, as if howling from within the dilapidated loess buildings ahead, whistled "woo woo woo!" with strange sounds faintly audible in between.

"Why has it suddenly beco colder?" Zi Ya asked, then turned to Shi Feng and Dark Evil, "Do you feel it?"

"Not at all, it’s the sa as before," Shi Feng replied.

"Oh? Is that so?" Zi Ya fluttered her innocent, wide-open eyes.

They continued to draw closer...

Subsequently, it wasn’t just the cold wind, but intermittent, barely audible cries began to echo around them.

"Listen, soone is crying," Zi Ya suddenly said.

Shi Feng hadn’t expected that this girl’s Soul Power was quite sensitive.

However, the crying abruptly ca to a halt.

"Eh, it’s gone?" Zi Ya said in surprise, even she began to doubt whether the sounds she heard were real.

Shi Feng then spoke up, "You’re scared, so you’re hearing things."

"Is that so?" Zi Ya furrowed her brows lightly, as if in thought.

"If you’re scared, then stay here," Shi Feng suggested.

"Stay here?" Hearing Shi Feng’s words, Zi Ya’s eyes suddenly opened wide, and as she looked around the eerily silent surroundings, she quickly said,

"I... I’ll stick with you guys instead, I’d be afraid on my own."

"Alright then," Shi Feng said, and they continued on their way.

As they walked, Zi Ya kept looking back, feeling as though sothing in the shadows was watching her. She was truly afraid that whatever it was might suddenly appear when she turned her head.

But the more frightened she felt, the more she looked back.

Shi Feng shook his head inwardly; this girl should be paying more attention to what was ahead of them—that was where sothing might suddenly erge.

"I feel like sothing has been following us," Zi Ya said, her voice lowered, "Do you think it could be... a ghost!"

As she uttered the word, her delicate body shivered involuntarily.

She had scared herself!

"Perhaps," Shi Feng said with a smile.

"You’re still laughing, aren’t you afraid?" Zi Ya asked.

"I am," Shi Feng said, "But being afraid and laughing are not mutually exclusive."

"Is that so?" Zi Ya blinked, seemingly pondering Shi Feng’s words again.

The three of them were already very close to the earthen building, when suddenly, the wailing sounded again, one wave after another.

"I’m certain I did not hear wrong this ti, it’s definitely not a hallucination, soone is crying, and there are a lot of people crying."

This ti, Zi Ya spoke to Shi Feng with a serious face.

Then, to prove to Shi Feng that what she heard was not a hallucination, she ran towards the elliptical entrance in one breath.

Shi Feng was too late even if he wanted to stop her.

Next, Shi Feng saw the girl standing there, her delicate body trembling nonstop.

"What’s going on? Can this girl really see ghosts? But with her Soul Power, she shouldn’t be able to," Shi Feng said, looking at the silhouette.

He then rushed over and landed by her side.

Ahead was a wide road with earthen houses on both sides, and on that road, translucent figures floated about, their faces pale and their expressions mostly wooden.

There were also several translucent figures sitting on the ground, crying in grief.

"This... this is really... ghosts! So many... so many... ghosts!"

Zi Ya suddenly scread, grabbing onto Shi Feng beside her. Shi Feng could feel the soft body pressing against him, quivering intensely.

Zi Ya’s scream imdiately drew the gaze of all the ghosts in front, their pale faces all turned in their direction.

"It’s okay, they’re just so low-level Wandering Souls, nothing to be scared of." Shi Feng gently patted her back and whispered consolingly.

"Woo woo woo... ghosts... there are ghosts... real ghosts, and so many of them..." Zi Ya cried in Shi Feng’s arms.

"These ghosts are actually not much different from the living. If a person is evil in life, they will beco an Evil Ghost after death. But those you see are just ordinary people who have beco ghosts," Shi Feng continued to comfort.

"Is that so?" Zi Ya lifted her head to look at Shi Feng, then slowly turned back.

Shi Feng went on:

"You see, they’re not as scary as you think. They just exist in another form now."

Listening to Shi Feng’s words, Zi Ya dared to observe those ghosts:

"It seems like you are right. Our clan once said that ghosts would mingle amongst people, and at first glance, they seem just like ordinary individuals, but they change, their faces beco covered in blood, and then they scare you at night."

"That’s at night though, it’s still dayti," Shi Feng said. "Let go of now, doesn’t it embarrass you with so many ghosts watching?"

"Let hug you a little longer, I’m scared! Holding you, I feel a bit better." Zi Ya nevertheless replied.

"Then hold on for a little longer," Shi Feng shook his head and chuckled, then a pale white mark appeared in his left palm, which he raised high.

Following that, the translucent bodies of the Wandering Souls, which had previously had wooden expressions, suddenly transford. Their bodies seed to lose control and floated towards Shi Feng.

"Ah, they’re coming over, they’re all coming over! Are they trying to scare ? They must want to eat ! My older sister once told that ghosts prefer to eat pretty and cute little girls like , with soft and tender skin."

Zi Ya suddenly scread, and Shi Feng felt her arms tightening around him.

After hearing her, Shi Feng was speechless. Was she really scared, or was this an opportunity to complint herself?

But this naive girl of the Snake-man Race was probably the forr.

Next, the translucent figures drew close to Shi Feng and suddenly fell to the ground.

Then, one by one, the ghosts knelt before Shi Feng, not understanding what was happening themselves, but upon seeing the mark in Shi Feng’s left hand, they could not help but co forward to kneel.

"Why... why are they all kneeling towards us?" Zi Ya looked forward, then back at Shi Feng, even more puzzled.

Following this, a series of hoarse and mournful cries rose in unison: "We greet the Great One."

The mark in the palm of Shi Feng’s hand was the Nine Nether Ghost Order! All ghosts who saw it would co to pay homage; once, Emperor Nine Nether was the Lord of Tens of Millions of Ghosts!

However, with Shi Feng’s current strength, if the Soul Power of the ghosts exceeded the Third-stage, they would beco difficult to subdue.
