Under the Dark Space Array, Shi Feng was brought into a realm of darkness.
"Eh! Why did it suddenly get so dark out of the blue? Does it even get dark in the Death Forbidden Land?" Behind Shi Feng ca the unnerving voice of the twisted Ning Cheng.
"An abnormality signifies the presence of demons!" Following closely, the Kirin King’s grave voice echoed as well.
Just like Shi Feng, Ning Cheng and the Kirin King had both entered this dark space.
"Hehe, hehehehehe!" The sound of Elder Cang’s mocking laughter continued to rise in this dark space, seeming to co from all directions, like the eerie haunt of ghosts.
"This voice sounds so familiar! Who’s that laughing?" Ning Cheng pondered aloud upon hearing it.
"Yes! It’s that Old Juhua playing tricks on us!" The Kirin King exclaid upon recognizing the laughter. He referred to the man who had sold him the "Complete Guide to Death Forbidden Land" in East Brilliance City. The old man’s smiling face resembled a chrysanthemum; hence the Kirin King nicknad him Old Juhua.
"Old Juhua?" Ning Cheng was sowhat puzzled after hearing what the Kirin King said.
Shi Feng, upon hearing that laughter, had already recognized it as the old man who had sold them the "Complete Guide to Death Forbidden Land." He suspected that it was also that old man who had set up this Dark Space Array!
"Hehe! Hehehe!" Imdiately after, the "heh" laughter, seemingly mobile, converged in front of them. Shortly thereafter, a vague gray figure began to erge out of the darkness nearby. They heard clearly that the bizarre laughter was emanating from that figure.
Gradually, the figure’s gray silhouette beca more solid, and the first thing that caught the eyes of the three was that chrysanthemum-like, smiling old face. However, at a glance, this old face appeared rather kind and amiable.
It was indeed Old Juhua!
Soon after, not just the face, but Old Juhua’s blurry figure beca coherent and clear.
"Indeed, it is I! Old Juhua is my appellation in the Jianghu!" Upon appearing, Old Juhua faced the Kirin King and nodded in admiration as if to say the Kirin King’s ability to recognize his laughter and guess his identity was quite impressive.
"It’s him! The benevolent elder!" At that mont, Ning Cheng saw the old man switch the black human-shaped oddity from his right hand to his left, then raised his right hand to wave at Old Juhua in greeting.
"It’s you!" When Old Juhua saw Ning Cheng, his chrysanthemum-like, amiable face instantly contorted with hatred as if bearing a life and death grudge, teeth itching with fury!
"Good, good! You little beast, I’ve finally caught you. How dare you steal the treasures of my Death Forbidden Land. I will make sure to torture you to death, make you wish for death that you can neither achieve nor escape!" Old Juhua furiously spoke to Ning Cheng.
The Kirin King, who had expected Old Juhua’s smile to beco even more kind and amiable upon seeing Ning Cheng, was shocked to see such a vicious expression instead. Hearing Old Juhua’s fierce words, he turned to look at Ning Cheng beside him and said, confused, "Aren’t you his illegitimate son? Now it seems as if you’re his father’s sworn enemy."
"God damn it, you’re the damn love child of Old Juhua! I don’t have anything to do with him," Ning Cheng said.
After hearing what Old Juhua had said, Shi Feng realized that the unique "Complete Guide to Death Forbidden Land" Ning Cheng had was snatched from Old Juhua.
Then, Shi Feng’s gaze fixed on Old Juhua’s face, and he said in a heavy tone, "If I’m not wrong, the reason no one has ever co out of the Death Forbidden Land alive is all your doing."
"Heh heh!" Upon hearing Shi Feng’s words, the ferocious look on Old Juhua’s face towards Ning Cheng gradually faded, followed by the reergence of his chrysanthemum-like smile, as he chuckled, "Actually, you only guessed half right. A long ti ago, since the appearance of the Death Forbidden Land, it was my grandfather’s, grandfather’s, grandfather’s, grandfather who guarded this exit.
I rember back when I was an innocent, lively, and adorable little boy, the family handed down a mission, to make sure that no one who enters the Death Forbidden Land could co out alive, to kill them and then raid all the treasures they had obtained in the Death Forbidden Land from their corpses.
You can call us the Guardians of the Death Forbidden Land’s exit or even Exit Hunters, whatever you prefer, heh heh!"
"So you’re saying, for generations, you’ve amassed countless treasures within this Death Forbidden Land?" Hearing Old Juhua’s words, the Kirin King now looked at Old Juhua as if he were a walking treasure trove and said gravely.
"Heh heh, that’s one way to put it! My body is laden with innurable treasures; I’m like a walking treasure vault, but..." Old Juhua paused when he got to ’but,’ his expression turning serious.
Imdiately after, Old Juhua’s aura began to soar rapidly, his slightly hunched back straightened up, and the clothes on his body, his white hair on his head, all started to flutter without wind, "If you want everything on , you need to have the ability. But you won’t have that chance, for soon, you will beco three cold corpses within the Death Forbidden Land."
Upon seeing Old Juhua’s soaring aura, the Kirin King’s face drastically changed. The Old Juhua before him had seed only to be at the Martial King Realm, but now his cultivation level was utterly inscrutable.
The Kirin King even felt that looking at Elder Cang’s figure was like looking at a vast mountain; he felt like a tiny ant before him, as if with just a minor move from Old Juhua, his life could be snuffed out.
"Martial Saint Realm!" Shi Feng shouted loudly. He hadn’t expected this old man to be a Martial Saint, a powerful being blocking the exit. No wonder the rumor was that over the years, no one who entered the Death Forbidden Land had made it out.
"What!" The Kirin King’s face changed again upon hearing Shi Feng’s words, drastically and repeatedly; a Martial Saint... a Martial Saint Realm, this was a Martial Saint, a Saint!
There’s a saying in Tianheng Continent, ’Below the Saint, all are ants!’ No wonder he felt like an ant before him, completely powerless to resist.
"We’re in trouble this ti!" Looking at Old Juhua before him, Shi Feng’s expression beca more and more solemn, not expecting this place to be hiding a Martial Saint Realm powerhouse!
