Silence!

Ning An was puzzled. Had this kid gotten stuck? He looked up again to see Quan Xiaobai gazing at him with a complicated expression.

Without waiting for Ning An to speak, Quan Xiaobai thoughtfully explained, "They were already corpses; their brains were completely dead. Even if they don’t have heads, it doesn’t affect them much."

After saying this, he smacked his lips and said coldly, "I originally wanted to chop off their heads or cut them in half. The visual effect in battle would be better, and it would be more intimidating. But those who lack artistic sense above vetoed it."

Goodness gracious!

Ning An nearly spilled his tea, yet he was so choked that he couldn’t say a word.

Listen, is this sothing a person would say?

What do you an by those above lack artistic sense?

No, buddy, with that kind of idea, no one would dare agree!

Ning An critiqued inwardly but kept a straight face, casually asking, "Then, where did you get the bodies for making zombies?"

Ning An had always been curious about this.

After all, Dragon Country has always valued family ties. Even if family mbers pass away, it’s unacceptable for others to desecrate them, let alone use them for corpse cultivation.

Even if the military had soldiers with high ideological awareness, who donate their bodies after heroic sacrifice, the public opinion in Dragon Country wouldn’t agree.

And if common people’s corpses were chosen, that would be even less likely!

It’s like a certain country forcing citizens to sign organ donation agreents. In so people’s eyes, the people on the street aren’t humans but rather walking, healthy collections of organs.

They covet them, they crave them, and they might even say:

These are clearly my organs; why are they on these cows and horses? Give them back!

So so precedents definitely cannot be set!

None of these avenues could be used or opened, so Ning An couldn’t help but be curious where Quan Xiaobai’s corpses ca from.

"I can’t say."

Quan Xiaobai’s eyes flickered, revealing a complex look: "There’s a confidentiality agreent, I can only tell you they aren’t Dragon Country People."

"Hmm?"

Upon hearing this, Ning An beca even more confused. Not Dragon Country People?

They can’t be aliens, right?

As if to change the subject, Quan Xiaobai remarkably brought up a topic: "Didn’t you want to see zombies last ti? I’ll take you to see them."

Ning An rubbed his hands: "How could I say no to that? Let’s hurry up!"

The two left the lab, walked through the base’s buildings, and headed toward the northern woods.

Since the cave was discovered, the surroundings of the cave were cleared out, and since the base’s south faced the cave, all vegetation to the south was completely cleared, leaving it quite barren, with only the woods to the south intact.

Quan Xiaobai led the way while Ning An followed, feeling a bit odd as they walked.

Over the days, even without deliberately rembering, Ning An had a general idea of the base’s constant patrols and guards.

But from leaving the lab to exiting the base, during the ten-minute walk, there were no patrols, nor guard posts found on this path.

Are zombies that terrifying?

Suppressing these thoughts, Ning An shook his head and followed Quan Xiaobai out of the base.

After another three-minute walk, Quan Xiaobai finally stopped in a certain spot.

This place wasn’t densely wooded, not too high or low in elevation, not far from the base, making it visible with a flashlight.

It might not be a good choice for a night raid, but with the dense Yin energy, it was a good place to bury bodies.

"Swift!"

Quan Xiaobai perford a hand seal and with a low shout, the ground trembled, soon a pitch-black figure shot straight up from the soil.

It didn’t co out rigidly!

A strange feeling flashed through Ning An’s mind. He suspected Quan Xiaobai’s zombie had grown stronger, but didn’t expect it to develop the flexibility within the deceased body.

Having seen it only from afar during the day, Ning An couldn’t see clearly before, but now he closely observed this zombie and indeed found it unusual.

The zombie’s exposed palms, though still emaciated like wood, faintly shimred with silver. The long nails had retreated, making the hands appear mostly normal.

It stood there with its hands hanging in front of Ning An, seeming less murderous and possessing more Spiritual Qi compared to last ti.

Ning An praised sincerely: "Wow!"

"You understand?" Ning Xiaobai was visibly surprised.

"I don’t understand."

Ning An straightforwardly chuckled, "But since you brought here, you must be showing off. It’s always right to give a complint."

Quan Xiaobai: "..."
