The entrance of the most luxurious nightclub in Eastern City.
A black stretched Rolls-Royce is parked not far away.
Through the half-open window, Asher Land’s cold and handso profile is vaguely visible inside the car.
"Has she been coming here often?" Asher Land asked Robert Williams, who was sitting in the driver’s seat, in a deep voice.
"Yes." Robert Williams answered truthfully, "According to my recent investigation, the only places Miss Irene goes to are a few: nightclubs, bars, hotels, and... every ti she goes out, different n accompany her."
Asher Land’s fingers unconsciously clenched into a fist. What exactly does she want? Is she happy to debase herself like this?
Robert Williams couldn’t fathom Asher Land’s thoughts right now. Perhaps Asher doesn’t care for Irene, but seeing her fall to such a state, his heart surely wouldn’t feel good either.
"There’s one more thing, I..." Robert hesitated, sowhat haltingly, unsure whether to say it out loud.
"Speak."
"Miss Irene was originally going back to Europe, but her family... drove her out."
"What?" Asher Land frowned, "Why was she driven out?"
Colton Morton loved his precious daughter so much, how could he bear to drive her out of the family?
"Colton Morton is dead, and Miss Irene’s older brother and sister-in-law, to strip her of her inheritance rights... drove her out."
Asher Land’s deep, sharp eyes gradually dulled. Colton Morton was dead, and Irene was driven out?
"Explain clearly the causes and consequences."
His gaze fell on the bustling nightclub entrance, suddenly feeling irritated. He lit a cigarette.
"Colton Morton hadn’t been in good health in recent years. After Miss Irene was driven out of the Land Family by you, she decided to go back to Europe with Colton. Unexpectedly, after returning to Europe, Miss Irene had argunts with Colton, and Colton beca ill due to the anger. He passed away after a few days."
Robert didn’t reveal the reason for Irene and Colton’s argunt, but Asher Land had already guessed a few of the reasons.
"Miss Irene’s older brother and sister-in-law took the opportunity to drive her out of the Morton Family. With nowhere to go, Miss Irene returned to Eastern City." Robert just briefly explained what had happened.
In such a short period of ti, how much had happened was beyond Robert’s investigation. If Asher Land wanted to know more deeply about the events, he would probably have to ask Irene herself.
"Was she just so foolish, not resisting at all? Allowing her older brother to drive her out of the Morton Family and strip her of her inheritance rights?"
Asher Land’s lips curled into a helpless smile, "She usually causes quite a fuss, yet she managed to make herself so destitute and miserable, without a place to call ho."
Robert did not reply, and silence engulfed the car cabin like death.
The car remained parked there for over five hours. It was four in the morning when Irene finally staggered out of the nightclub after having her fill of fun.
Two n were still by her side.
The man wrapped his arm around her waist, gently lifted her, and brought her to his car.
"Follow that car." Asher Land rolled up the window, his body slightly fatigued and weakly resting against the seat. He closed his eyes, adjusting his uneven breathing rhythm.
Robert followed the car steadily. About a few dozen minutes later, Irene’s car in front stopped, but the people inside did not co out.
