Nanny Garcia’s heartfelt words left Sophie Smith a bit surprised, yet also sowhat upset.
Irene Morton... is she really going to disappear right before their eyes like this?
Sophie sat on the couch in the living room for a long ti, her body stiff and cold, unable to stop trembling. Even so, she still didn’t return to the master bedroom. With Irene’s sudden departure, she found herself at a loss for how to face Asher Land.
Nanny Garcia advised her never to ask him to bring Irene back or say anything of the sort in his presence. But if she didn’t say anything, she would feel stifled inside, which made her conflicted and afraid to confront him.
She curled up on the sofa, while upstairs, Asher stood at the second-floor railing, his gaze falling in her direction.
He stood there watching her for more than two hours, but she still showed no intention of coming upstairs. Finally, he couldn’t hold back any longer, quietly walking over to her side and gathering her up in his arms.
"Asher Land... why haven’t you gone to sleep yet?" Sophie found herself lifted into the air. As soon as she nestled in his arms, a miraculous warmth spread through her body. She wasn’t sure if it was just psychological.
"How can I sleep when you’re not by my side?" He held her, steadily walking upstairs.
"You don’t have to worry about . I don’t feel like sleeping right now." Saying this, she began to squirm slightly in his arms.
"If you don’t want to sleep, I don’t mind playing so other gas with you." He half-closed his striking eyes, threatening her word by word.
Sophie didn’t say much more, allowing him to place her on the bed. He lay down beside her, letting her rest her head on his chest. Bored, Sophie’s small hand traced circles on his abs.
He grabbed her small hand.
"Don’t play with fire," he said in a low voice, while Sophie, feeling stuffy inside, paid no heed to him.
He turned to his side and pinned her beneath him.
"Don’t touch ." Her tone was light but carried a hint of command.
"I’m allowed to kindle the flas, yet I’m not allowed to put them out?" He lifted her chin, his gaze deep and profound. Just as he leaned in to kiss her lips, she turned her head, causing him to miss.
"Sophie!" he rebuked her sharply.
This man, his desire seed all too easy to ignite.
Sophie sighed helplessly and wrapped her arms around his shoulders, giving him a soft kiss. She knew when to stop, though Asher clearly wanted more.
However, in the end, Sophie’s resistance proved effective, as Asher did not force her.

The Land Family had been in chaos recently because of Irene, but this morning, with her absence, all the servants felt a bit relieved.
No longer did they have to argue about who would bring food to Irene, nor fear that her addiction would flare up and cause them harm...
Sophie and Asher ca downstairs together, and the servants couldn’t help but direct their gazes toward them.
To them, the young master and Miss Smith seed like a perfect match, just made for each other.
Asher seed to have developed a habit of ’taking care’ of her during als. He gentlemanly pulled out her chair and placed breakfast in front of her. After tending to his woman, he didn’t neglect his son either, even feeding him breakfast, bite by bite.
Sophie was amazed. Goodness, was this still the sa Asher Land?
