Just like Sophie Smith, in Luke Land’s eyes, Sophie was rely ’taken’ by him. He used so unsavory thods to keep her by his side, but... who knows why, Sophie eventually fell in love with him?
So, sothing must have gone wrong in between.
"Can you stop making wild guesses?" Asher Land felt uneasy seeing Luke Land’s dubious look.
"Fine, but I refuse to accept your views on love and values anyway."
"I haven’t even said anything and you refuse?"
"Yes." Luke Land nodded.

On the other hand, Eva Miller remained silent. Sophie Smith thought that even a few complaints from her would be better. The usually lively and noisy Eva suddenly beca quiet, which was truly frightening.
"I’m sorry, Eva, for bringing your parents over without discussing it with you. It was indeed my fault," Sophie apologized while driving.
"Sophie, just stop." She knew Sophie ant well, but no one understood what was truly right for her.
Sophie heard Eva’s faint sigh and saw her looking dejected and lancholic, making her wonder if she truly made a mistake this ti.
"Sophie, don’t overthink it, my bad mood has nothing to do with you." Eva, as if reading Sophie’s mind, spoke up to ease the tension. Sophie was her best friend, and whatever she did, it was for her good. So, she shouldn’t be angry at her no matter what.
Concerning the strained relationship between Eva and Luke Land, Sophie wasn’t entirely surprised. From the mont they had a fake marriage, she felt it was unlikely people without feelings for each other could live harmoniously.
But she genuinely believed Luke deeply loved Eva. At the very least, he would protect Eva for a lifeti. Eva had already been hurt once by Oliver Johnson, and she didn’t want to see her hurt again.
"Sophie, do you really think Luke Land loves ?" Eva turned her head, asking Sophie word by word.
Sophie was taken aback by her question.
"Don’t you... feel so?" Sophie countered.
"But if he truly loves soone, he shouldn’t force her to do anything she dislikes, right? Do you know... last night..." Suddenly, Eva’s emotions beca uncontrollable.
"What happened last night?" Sophie felt uneasy seeing Eva like that.
"He, he forced himself on last night. I begged him in tears, but he still wouldn’t let go. How could he do this..."
"What? Did he really do that?" Sophie was utterly shocked. The Luke Land she knew wasn’t like that. He cherished Eva, cared deeply for her, and when she was pregnant, he was by her side like a personal servant, never leaving her alone. How could he ignore Eva’s wishes and force himself on her?
