It’s another Friday, not much different from the usual. Sophie Smith usually has no appointnts on this day, she can sleep until she wakes up naturally, no need to wear makeup, no rushing around, and she can leisurely have afternoon tea.
At around seven in the morning, she felt Asher Land’s departure. Instinctively, she wanted to ask him to stay, but fortunately, the dizzy feeling didn’t last long.
Besides, she knew that Asher Land’s career was far more important than hers! How could he stay because of her simple plea?
"Miss Smith, you’re up, co down for breakfast," Nanny Garcia stood kindly at the top of the stairs. To her, Sophie Smith was like her own child, graceful and sensible, giving her a very affectionate feeling.
"Good morning, Nanny Garcia." Sophie Smith greeted and then sat down at the dining table. The table was so large that sitting alone seed lonely and looked sowhat deserted.
"The young master was supposed to have breakfast with Miss Smith, but early this morning, Robert Williams ca by saying there was an ergency at the company..." Robert Williams was Asher Land’s most capable assistant, usually always by Asher Land’s side, but he was taciturn, and Sophie Smith rarely talked to him.
Nanny Garcia seed to still be explaining Asher Land’s reason for leaving early in the morning; she thought Sophie might not be accustod to being here alone. Indeed, without Asher Land, she was sowhat unaccustod, but she was not greedy enough to want him beside her all the ti.
"Nanny Garcia, he has his work to do, I know." Sophie Smith smiled and interrupted, "You haven’t had breakfast, have you? Let’s eat together."
"No, no, Miss Smith, please eat." Nanny Garcia was a bit flattered, waving her hand repeatedly.
Sophie Smith shook her head helplessly. The Land Family’s maids were too well-trained to ever make any wayward gestures beyond courtesy.
After eating a few bites of breakfast, she walked to the living room and turned on the TV.
At first, the TV was orderly broadcasting the morning entertainnt news, Sophie Smith paid no extra attention, but suddenly, the screen switched back to the studio.
"Good morning, viewers, we now interrupt with explosive news. Early this morning, a scandalous video spread wildly across major websites, shocking the nation, as the male and female protagonists in the video are none other than Wyatt Sterling and Anna, stars of the hit movie City of Desire..."
What? Caught off guard, Sophie Smith’s coffee mug slipped from her hand onto the floor.
She stared in disbelief, the thought dominating her mind: This can’t be true!
Wyatt Sterling, his reputation in the entertainnt industry had always been stellar; he had credible works and steady popularity. How could he do such a thing to destroy his stardom?
The maids gathered around her one by one, chattering away.
"Isn’t that Wyatt Sterling? Super handso. I’ve always liked him, but didn’t expect..."
"The entertainnt circle is really a ss now. Didn’t expect Wyatt Sterling turned out to be this kind of person, seed pretty gentle and polite in front of the dia!"
"As a public figure, how can he do such a morally ruinous thing?"

Sophie Smith could no longer stand listening, she got up and decisively turned off the TV. Although she wasn’t the lady of the Land Family, Asher Land was exceptionally doting on Sophie, which the maids could see, so no one dared to say anything about her action and just quietly went about their work.
No way, she must go find Wyatt Sterling to clarify. She refused to believe he was such a person, absolutely refused to believe.
