"I’ve had enough. You all take your ti." Sophie Smith suddenly lost her appetite. She put down her utensils and spoke to Asher Land and Irene Morton.
"Sister Sophie, you ate so little. Have a bit more."
"No, really, I’m full." Sophie smiled calmly, stood up, and then walked upstairs.
In the corner of the sofa, she saw a magazine, with Wyatt Sterling and Anna taking up the entire page.
She couldn’t resist bending down to pick up the magazine, frowning as she read through the contents.
After this scandal, Wyatt Sterling and Anna were blacklisted by all TV stations and related departnts, and their past achievents were ruined. It would be extrely difficult for them to rise again.
Sophie’s heart felt like sothing was blocking it, a heavy and uncomfortable feeling.
After a long ti, she put down the magazine and went upstairs.
This ti, she didn’t go to the master bedroom; instead, she went to a guest room. To avoid certain things, she locked the door from the inside.
Having done all this, she felt a sense of relief and lay down on the bed.
Irene Morton seed to have a good appetite; an hour had passed and she still hadn’t finished dinner.
Irene poured Asher Land a glass of red wine. He did not refuse and drank it down.
"Brother Asher, have another drink with ." With that, Irene made a move to pour more wine into Asher Land’s glass.
"Girls shouldn’t drink too much." He took the bottle from her hands. Irene, slightly tipsy, frowned and tried to grab it back, but Asher Land’s long arm dodged, leaving Irene grasping at the air.
Irene decided to stand up and walked over to Asher Land. To subdue him, she actually sat on his lap.
"Irene, behave yourself."
Asher’s tone was sowhat serious, but Irene didn’t take his words to heart, her small hand inching up to his neck.
She clung to him like an octopus, tightly wrapped around him.
"I rember the last ti I clung to you like this was when I was ten. Now I’m twenty. How is it? Do you notice how I’ve changed?" As she spoke, Irene deliberately shook her ample chest.
Asher looked exasperated. This girl, after years apart, had certainly grown bolder.
He shook his head, forcefully removing her hands wrapped around him.
"Finish your al, take a bath, and go to sleep." He left her and walked straight upstairs.
"This is so boring. Brother Asher, stay with a bit longer." Irene tried everything she could, but Asher Land remained indifferent.
"My woman is waiting for upstairs. I don’t have ti to spend with you, little girl."
"Sister Sophie is only a year older than . Isn’t she a little girl too? Brother Asher, you..."
"What about ?"
"You’re biased." She was doubtful whether his feelings for her remained stuck at that age of ten. In his heart, was she forever that little girl?
Irene’s eyes reddened. After completing her studies early, she rushed back to his side, yet she discovered that Brother Asher now was nothing like before.
She was disappointed, truly disappointed.
On the other hand, Nanny Garcia noticed Irene’s mood. She knew that Irene, having been cherished since childhood, couldn’t bear neglect. However, her young master had a rather aloof personality, and she thought he had been patient enough with Irene...
