"Ah! President Land, it’s you!" Eva Miller almost couldn’t speak due to the hot cabbage in the hot pot. Upon seeing Asher Land, she quickly spat out the food in her mouth without any concern for her image.
Sophie Smith was hiding under the table, reluctant to get up.
She increasingly felt the terrifying nature of Asher Land, she really didn’t want to interact with him, not for even a second.
"President Land is here to see Miss Sophie Smith." Robert Williams still conveyed Asher Land’s intent with a blank expression. Seeing Robert Williams’s stern face, Eva Miller felt a bit nervous too.
"Oh, Sophie Smith, she..." Eva Miller looked around but didn’t see any trace of Sophie Smith. She glanced around and finally pulled Sophie out from under the table.
"President Land, here’s your leading lady."
"Co over." Asher Land always spoke concisely, using as few words as possible, even leaving out the subject.
"President Land, I don’t know who you were calling over?" Eva Miller asked awkwardly.
For so reason, seeing him always filled Sophie Smith’s heart with a sense of fear. He was like a cold-blooded and heartless demon, ready to consu her completely at any mont. Yet, Sophie didn’t speak out; she hesitated, stood up, and walked towards him.
The reason she walked over was not due to compromise, but because Edward Harrison was present. She was desperately trying to conceal certain ugly truths, and Asher Land staying here would do her no good.
Asher Land’s mouth curled into a slight smile, it seed this woman had beco sowhat smarter.
"The movie starts filming in a couple of days, and I have work-related matters to discuss with you." Asher Land said before turning to leave, very sure that Sophie would follow.
But Sophie stood still, without any intention of moving.
Didn’t he say last night he wanted to discuss the leading lady role in "City of Desire"? But instead, he acted like a beast. She wouldn’t be fooled again and didn’t want any association with this treacherous man.
"Hey, Sophie, why are you just standing there? President Land has already gone outside, hurry up and follow him!" Eva Miller couldn’t hold back any longer, walked over, and pushed her toward the door. "Now President Land is your major backer, serve him well."
Sophie just cast a glance at Edward Harrison. He smiled slightly and nodded firmly at her.
"Little Sophie, you can do this, go for it!"
Her mouth struggled to form a slight smile, then she walked heavily towards the exit.
Asher Land sat in the car with a cold face, silent. Damn it, she made him wait?
"Get out, I have things to do." Asher Land dismissed Robert Williams, the driver, and sat in the driver’s seat himself.
Sophie arrived late; she knew Asher Land’s mood was surely bad right now. She opened the car door and sat in the back seat.
"Sit in the front!"
"Why?"
Was she the queen of asking questions?
"My word is law," Asher Land declared.
Heh, truly an arrogant and conceited man. Sophie sat in the back seat, ignoring his so-called order.
"I’ll give you three more seconds; I don’t mind pulling you out from the back seat."
Was there a difference between the front seat and the back seat? Why was this man so petty?
Sophie knew she wasn’t a match for Asher Land, so sensibly, she opened the car door and sat in the front passenger seat.
The car drove at high speed and finally stopped in front of a hotel.
She sat in the car, reluctant to get out.
