Irene Morton stayed in the hospital for a week, and miraculously, Asher Land set aside his work to accompany her in the hospital for that week.
Asher Land brought Irene Morton back to the Land Family. He helped her put away her luggage and searched the house, but he didn’t see the small figure he had been hoping to see.
"Where is she?" he blocked Nanny Garcia and asked.
Nanny Garcia naturally knew who he was referring to.
"Young master, Miss Smith hasn’t been back here for this week, but she called , saying she had a lot of assignnts recently, so..."
Asher Land frowned unhappily. This woman, he hadn’t been back for a week, and she hadn’t been here for a week either.
"Alright, I know. You can go get busy."
To say he didn’t feel lost would be a lie. Not seeing her for a week left him with an empty feeling inside.
He took out his phone and dialed her number.
Sophie Smith was in the lounge, sipping coffee and chatting with Julia Brown. Her phone was on silent, tossed on the sofa, so she didn’t notice.
"Sophie, your phone is ringing," Julia noticed it sharply.
Sophie picked up her phone, hesitated for a mont when she saw the caller ID.
"Tsk tsk..." Julia elongated her tone with an exaggerated expression, "It’s President Land! Looks like he’s missing you, Sophie!"
This week, even when Sophie didn’t have assignnts, she kept running to the company, and the keen Julia had already noticed sothing was off.
She thought there must be so disagreent between Sophie and Asher Land, otherwise, how could Asher not seek out Sophie for a week?
The phone kept ringing, but Sophie hesitated whether to answer or not.
After thinking for a long ti, she directly turned off the phone and put it in her bag.
Julia’s eyes widened. Sophie actually dared to cut off Boss Land’s call?
Looks like their conflict this ti is indeed quite serious.
"Sophie, I hate to say it," Julia hesitated.
"Say what about ?" She sipped her coffee casually, unaffected by the previous event.
"n all prefer won to be a bit more gentle. You should tone down your little temper with President Land," Julia, who is only twenty, spoke like soone with the experience of a person in their thirties or forties.
"I didn’t show any temper with him," Sophie said seriously.
"You still say you didn’t?" Julia shook her head. Who would dare hang up on Asher Land for no reason? What’s more, last ti she made Asher wait at the company for over three hours, who usually dares to do such a thing?
"So what do you want to do?" Sophie sneered, "Do you want to cling to him every day, attending to his every need?"
"Isn’t that good? Sophie, your position in President Land’s heart is sothing many envy, you should cherish it, in case one day he gets tired of this attitude towards you..."
Julia seed to realize she misspoke and quickly stopped herself.
"Tired?" Sophie’s expression was hard to decipher, "I’ve been waiting for that day."
When she said that, it felt like sothing hamred heavily in her heart; she couldn’t tell what she was grieving over.
Sophie stood up and walked towards the door.
Julia lightly slapped her own cheek, oh god, how could she be so careless with her words, now she’s made Sophie sad.
