"Hmm." Sophie didn’t have anything to hide.
"Where do you usually live?"
How should she answer? Normally, she slept by Asher Land’s side, wherever he lived, she would sleep. But she couldn’t just say that directly to Oliver Johnson, right?
"I don’t have a fixed place, most of the ti I stay in hotels because I have many gigs." She instinctively lied.
"I see." Oliver didn’t ask more. Actually, when they were together, he felt quite comfortable, but for so reason, she always seed a bit unnatural.
Oliver sat on the sofa flipping through his phone, while Sophie stood in the kitchen waiting for the water to boil, the atmosphere still sowhat awkward.
She made a cup of very ’rough’ tea and placed it on the coffee table.
The reason it’s called rough is that the tea leaves were casually grabbed from a convenience store, and the water, due to her impatience, wasn’t fully boiled, making the tea leaves float on top.
Sophie was at a loss with herself as Oliver was a wealthy nobleman, and she treated him like this; it was really inappropriate.
However, Oliver didn’t mind. Once the tea cooled a little, he picked up the cup and took a sip.
Sophie secretly felt relieved. Thankfully, Oliver was easygoing; if it had been Asher, that picky and exacting man, he would probably criticize her harshly.
At around nine o’clock in the evening, Asher called on ti to ’check in’; Sophie stealthily took her phone and went into the room.
"I won’t be ho tonight; I’m working out of town." Sophie said over the phone.
"You’re out of town again?" Asher’s voice had a hint of concern, rembering what happened to her in S City last ti still made him uneasy.
"Yes, but this ti there are many people with , Julia and Sister Sunny are here; you don’t need to worry." Sophie said ’obediently.’
"Since I’m not sleeping beside you, do you miss ?" A certain man suddenly asked.
"..." Sophie was at a loss for words.
"Do you miss or not?"
Could she say no? If she said she didn’t, he probably wouldn’t let her hang up.
"A little."
"What do you an by a little? Missing is missing, not missing is... "
He had to make her miss him.
"Fine, I miss you, miss you, miss you a lot, okay? May I hang up now?"
"That’s more like it, get so rest early..."
Before he finished speaking, Sophie hung up as if she were relieved from a burden.
Leaving the bedroom, she noticed Oliver standing by the window, his back to her.
His silhouette sowhat resembled Asher’s, tall and straight, giving Sophie a flash of illusion, as if she had returned to a certain period with Asher.
Upon hearing Sophie’s footsteps approach, Oliver suddenly turned around.
"It’s getting late, I should be leaving, you get so rest." His voice always had a habitual gentleness. After being with Asher for a long ti, hearing this kind of gentle tone was truly special; knowing that Asher usually shouted at her.
It’s strange, what’s wrong with her tonight, why did she keep comparing Oliver with Asher?
"What, you can’t bear for to leave?" Seeing Sophie not replying, Oliver said with a hint of amusent.
"Oh, no..."
"Then do you want to leave quickly?"
"Um, not really either..." Sophie was sowhat at a loss for words, "What I an is..."
"What exactly do you want?" Oliver teased her on purpose.
