Wyatt Sterling thought it was late, so he planned to head back.
Since both of their cars were parked across the street in the parking lot of another building, they had to walk through the rain to get there.
A single umbrella was nowhere near enough to shield them from the ’fierce’ rain. Rainwater trickled down their bodies, and Sophie Smith was shivering from the cold.
Wyatt Sterling didn’t think too much about it, he directly took off his suit jacket and draped it over her shoulders, then pulled her closer. Sophie initially wanted to resist, but how could she resist the strength of a man?
The night was dark, and maybe due to a malfunction, the streetlight near the parking spot wasn’t working. However, across from her, a car had its headlights on, the light so glaring that she couldn’t open her eyes.
Asher Land sat inside the car, a cold smile playing on his lips. As expected, she and Wyatt Sterling really had so unspeakable relation; now they were already intimately close, so what’s the next step? Was it to move to the bedroom?
He didn’t know her exact address, but when Robert Williams parked the car, he happened to notice her car parked here, so he stayed here to wait for her. He glanced at his watch—he had been waiting for her for exactly two hours.
"Senior Brother, my car is parked here. You don’t need to bother with , I can manage on my own," Sophie said and was about to return the jacket to him, but unexpectedly, he held her little hand in place.
"It’s okay, no rush in giving it back. You’re wearing so little, what if you catch a cold later?"
"No, really, it’s not necessary." If Asher Land saw her holding a man’s jacket when she got ho, he would surely be furious.
"I just wanted to show so concern for you, but even that you want to refuse?" Wyatt Sterling held her hand firmly. It really was cold, could she endure it as a girl?
"President Land, do you want to go down and ask Miss Smith to get in the car?" Robert Williams also felt uneasy for Sophie. From their car’s angle, the two really seed to be very close, and it’d be strange if the boss didn’t get jealous watching this scene.
Asher Land stared at Wyatt Sterling’s hand on her shoulder, and he hadn’t let go for over ten seconds. For heaven’s sake, this was already his limit of patience. Had it been another man, he might have endured another minute, but Wyatt Sterling—he couldn’t tolerate it.
Because Wyatt always, both openly and covertly, wanted to steal his woman.
Asher sprang out of the car with a swift step before Robert Williams could react. He was already standing in front of Sophie Smith and Wyatt Sterling, and Robert quickly grabbed an umbrella and followed.
Without a word, he punched Wyatt Sterling in the face. Wyatt was unprepared, staggered back, and fell into the rain.
Sophie was startled by the sudden scene, but she ca to her senses within two seconds.
"Senior Brother, are you okay?" She hurriedly helped Wyatt off the ground.
The rain poured relentlessly, drenching her to the bone.
She raised her eyes to the sinister man in front of her...
"Asher Land, can you do things without distinguishing right from wrong? Are you out of your mind?" Her voice was loud, but the sound of the rain almost drowned her out. He saw the anger in her expression.
"Why are you yelling? What does it have to do with you if I teach a handsy man a lesson? Haven’t you learned your lesson yet?" If she kept her distance from Wyatt Sterling, he wouldn’t have created that scandalous scene, nor would he have trouble with him.
He stood in the rainy night, with Robert Williams holding the umbrella for him from behind. He still had that noble deanor, but in Sophie’s eyes, she wished she could rush forward and give him a hard slap.
