Sophie Smith parted her lips, but she couldn’t bring herself to voice any refusal.
"Get so rest early; you were caught in the rain today. Be careful not to catch a cold," he softly advised a few more words before hanging up the phone.
Sophie Smith lay in bed; it was large, and she tossed and turned, unable to sleep all night.
Likewise, Asher Land in the guest room next door couldn’t sleep either.
He stood in front of the floor-to-ceiling window, casually lighting a cigarette.
Was she asleep now? She got drenched in so much rain; hopefully, she won’t catch a cold tonight. Moreover, she’s prone to cold; would she even get warm throughout the night?
"Asher Land, can’t you get a grip? Why are you thinking about all this?" He felt a bit frustrated, his mind filled only with her shadow.
He smoked one cigarette after another, as if only this could numb his heart.
He admitted he acted impulsively; perhaps he shouldn’t have argued with her.

Early in the morning, as Sophie Smith opened the master bedroom door, she saw Asher Land coming out from the guest room.
He wanted to say sothing to her, but unexpectedly, she didn’t even glance at him, dragging her injured leg and holding the railing as she went downstairs.
"Do you want to help you?" he asked.
"No need, thank you." She deliberately acted distant.
Seeing her like this, he couldn’t lose his temper, especially since her sprained ankle was partly his fault.
He stood upstairs and called for Nanny Garcia. She ca over, and Asher gave her a look. Nanny Garcia understood and quickly went over to help Sophie Smith downstairs.
The two sat on the living room sofa, one at one end, the other at the opposite, as if separated by the Milky Way Galaxy.
"What do you want for breakfast? I’ll ask the kitchen to prepare it." In truth, his tone had softened considerably.
Sophie Smith ignored him, focusing on the magazine in her hand. She decided that after what happened last night, she wouldn’t speak or reconcile with him for at least a week.
Yes, she was serious.
Nanny Garcia knew that both of them were stubborn and unwilling to back down. Seeing her young master’s sullen face, she didn’t hesitate to walk over to Sophie Smith.
"Miss Smith, what do you want for breakfast? I’ll ask the kitchen to make it." Nanny Garcia repeated Asher Land’s words.
"I want sothing light, Nanny Garcia. Just ask the kitchen to make sothing." Sophie Smith curved her lips and said slowly to Nanny Garcia.
She could be patient and smile at anyone, but not him!
"Alright, I’ll go ask the kitchen to prepare sothing light."
"And what about you, young master? What would you like for breakfast?" Nanny Garcia turned to ask Asher Land.
"Not hungry." He casually tossed out a line, then picked up his car keys, changed his shoes, and walked out.
Sophie Smith’s eyes blinked slightly, but in the end, she said nothing.
Shortly after, she heard the sound of a car engine, and a black car quickly sped away from the villa.
"Miss Smith, the young master sincerely wants to treat you well, you..." Why can’t you appreciate it?
