Sophie Smith soaked in the bathtub, closing her eyes.
She knew that she could never enter his world; they were not people from the sa world.
Now, she didn’t even qualify to stand at his birthday party!
"Sophie."
Asher Land knocked on the bathroom door a few tis. It’s been so long, and she still hasn’t co out. Could she have fallen asleep in the bathtub? That woman, always so muddle-headed.
"If you don’t make a sound, I’m coming in." Just as Asher Land was about to push the door open, Sophie was one step ahead.
She stood in front of him, one hand on the doorknob, the other wrapped in a towel, barefoot.
Without her high heels, she didn’t even reach Asher Land’s shoulders, so she had to look up at him.
"Is there sothing you need?"
"No, I thought you fell asleep. Hurry up and get dressed, co downstairs for dinner."
Sophie gave a nod, then walked to the bedroom and started changing her clothes right in front of him without much concealnt.
Perhaps it was too wild last night, her arms were sore, and she just couldn’t fasten her bra.
He walked over silently, his large hands gently caressing her back for a mont, then helped her fasten it.
After getting dressed, she and Asher Land walked downstairs together.
She kept thinking about what Irene Morton said not long ago, that the Land Family people would be coming from Europe; she probably couldn’t stay here any longer.
The al was relatively peaceful, though Irene Morton frequently made sarcastic remarks, which Sophie had grown accustod to.
From the start, she knew Irene Morton’s feelings for Asher Land were anything but simple. Now, Irene couldn’t tolerate any woman related to Asher Land.
Especially since she and Asher Land had such an intimate bedmate relationship.
After the al, Sophie needed to go to the hospital for a follow-up checkup. Asher Land insisted on taking her there, but she firmly refused.
In the end, Asher Land compromised and instructed the family driver to take her.
After Sophie left, Irene Morton eagerly discussed Asher’s birthday party with him.
"Brother Asher, I’ve drafted the nu for your birthday party. Would you like to take a look?"
"I originally thought your birthday should be held in a grand manner, but Uncle Land said he just wanted a gathering of the family, so we have to go along with his wishes."
"But if you think just a family al is boring, I can help plan so entertainnt activities, ..."

Irene Morton kept chattering on, but Asher Land wasn’t in the mood to listen.
"Since it’s a matter for the Lands, it should be handled by the Lands."
There was a distinct aloofness in Asher Land’s tone.
How could Irene not detect the implication in his words? She wanted Sophie not to attend his birthday, to let Sophie know she was rely an outsider, but now Asher’s words also treated Irene as an outsider.
She curled her lips, pretending not to care on the surface, but her heart couldn’t calm down.
"Since Brother Asher, you don’t want to get involved, I won’t bother then, I have no interest in worrying about it!" Irene tossed the prepared nu on the table, pouting and looking unhappy.
He didn’t quite know why he couldn’t control his emotions. Indeed, his temper seed to be getting worse. Seeing her aggrieved look, Asher softened a bit, thought for a mont, then added.
"If you’re not busy lately, you can help prepare. I’m just afraid of troubling you."
"Okay! No trouble." Irene eagerly agreed, "Leave it to ."
