Eva Miller let out a deep sigh. Actually, all of a sudden, she felt that Sophie Smith was pretty pitiful. She used to envy her, having t soone like Asher Land—wealthy, powerful, handso, and caring. But now, upon careful reflection, it seed that man couldn’t provide her with simple happiness.
She thought, if it were an ordinary person, wanting a child wouldn’t be such a big deal, but now Sophie’s man is Asher Land...
Sophie Smith didn’t think much about it and walked into the hospital room.
"Little Sophie, why hasn’t Mr. Johnson co today?" Christopher Smith asked impatiently as soon as Sophie entered the hospital room.
"Dad!" Sophie’s tone had a hint of reproach, "Mr. Johnson doesn’t have to co to the hospital every day. Don’t think too much about it. Also, from now on, please talk less about matters concerning in front of him."
"Why can’t we talk about it? I sowhat feel that Mr. Johnson is interested in you?"
"There’s nothing like that!" Sophie firmly denied, handing him a cup of milk, "Dad, I’m serious. If you keep trying to match with Mr. Johnson, I’ll be upset."
"I was just having a good conversation with him..." Seeing Sophie’s unpleasant expression, Christopher softened his tone, "Besides, every ti Mr. Johnson and I talk, he’s the one who brings up topics about you..."
...
Sophie Smith, after much consideration, still decided to temporarily move out from the Land Family and live in a place closer to the hospital.
She just didn’t know what Asher Land would think?
She returned to the Land Family in the evening, went straight to the master bedroom, and casually packed a few items. Asher Land followed her upstairs and, seeing her like this, couldn’t help but furrow his brows.
"Where do you want to go?"
"It’s like this, my dad’s condition is pretty serious, so I want to be near the hospital to take care of him. The house is far from the hospital, which is inconvenient, so I want to move out." She spoke very logically, not at all showing signs of having a tantrum.
"Where are you planning to stay?"
"Nearby the hospital, I’ve rented an apartnt there."
"Are you staying alone?" He was a bit worried, "Let move there with you."
"Stop fooling around." Sophie gave a helpless smile, "It’s just a one-bedroom apartnt and really cramped. If..."
She thought for a while before lifting her head to say the next words.
"If you want to see , just call . I’ll co to see you, but please don’t co looking for . My dad really doesn’t want to see you."
He was about to lose his temper, but she kept talking regardless,
"My dad’s health is really bad, I’m afraid seeing you would worsen his condition."
"..."
Asher Land’s face stiffened. Damn it, did she really dislike him this much?
Sophie dragged her suitcase and started heading downstairs.
"Could you stay just for tonight, please?" He pulled at her suitcase, a trace of plea in his eyes.
Actually, his temper had already improved a lot. If it had been in the past, and she insisted on doing this, he certainly wouldn’t have shown her a kind face.
So this ti, she was especially patient, not intending to have a conflict with him.
"What’s the difference between leaving tonight and leaving in the morning?"
"There is. At least tonight you’ll be sleeping with , and I won’t have insomnia."
"Then how did you manage while you were in Europe? Were you insomniac without ?"
"Yeah."
