"Misunderstanding?" Asher Land chuckled lightly, "How could there be? My dear is just chatting with an acquaintance. If I were to get jealous over that, wouldn’t I be a bit petty?"
Sophie Smith was dumbfounded. Did those words really co out of Asher Land’s mouth?
It’s rare for him to be so ’understanding’, ’considerate’!
"Seems I indeed overthought. I’ll take my leave now and not disturb President Land and Miss Smith." Oliver Johnson said, a bit disappointed; he thought Asher Land would blow up.
"Yes, Mr. Johnson, you indeed thought too much." Asher Land smiled slightly, saying in good humor.
A false alarm.
Sophie Smith secretly let out a sigh of relief.
She got into Asher Land’s car, and just when she was about to speak, his voice took the lead.
"What did you talk about with him?"
"Huh?"
"I asked what you talked about with Oliver Johnson?"
"I, I thought you didn’t mind. Didn’t expect you still cared." Sophie Smith pouted as she spoke.
"I didn’t blow up on the spot, so that’s good. But you won’t allow to ask about it later?" Asher Land said, quite self-assured.
Actually, now he’s learning to trust her, even if there are other n around her.
"Sophie, I want to get along well with you."
Sophie Smith had been looking down at her phone. His sudden words left her extrely shocked.
She widened her eyes to look at him, with her lips parted, unable to speak.
Asher Land, seeing her reaction, couldn’t help but find it amusing. Was her reaction really necessary for such a simple sentence?
"What did you just say?" She asked again, unsure.
"I said, let’s get along well, alright?" He patiently repeated.
"Then, what do you an by getting along well?"
"You don’t upset , I don’t get angry at you."
Ultimately, it’s still about her being the one to yield first, so he won’t lose temper with her.
"Feels a bit unfair."
"What’s considered fair then?" He raised an eyebrow, this woman really is calculating.
"Hmm..." She thought seriously, this was a great mont to defend her rights, "When we argue, if the wrong is not clear, we need a third-party judgnt..."
She spoke eloquently, and Asher Land’s lips curved upward.
"What if the third party can’t decide who’s right or wrong?"
"Then you concede first."
"Why?"
"Because you’re taller than , so you have to lower your head first."
"..."
Actually, when she said this, she was serious, but to him, she seed so cute?
Before, in front of him, she was like a little wildcat with sharp claws, now...
Now she seed much more gentle, she wasn’t revealing wariness about him all over her.
"Okay, I’ll concede first." There was a trace of affection in his eyes, Sophie Smith was a bit stunned.
Suddenly she felt a bit uneasy; what did she say to him just now? It seed like her tone was too familiar with him...
She lowered her head and pretended to look at her phone.
Asher Land said nothing and started the car.
Between them, the emotions were becoming increasingly delicate, Sophie Smith knew that soday, those emotions would explode.
She turned to look at him driving, for the first ti, she seed to have a different understanding of him.
