Asher Land returned ho after eleven o’clock at night, and headed straight to the master bedroom.
Sophie Smith heard the noise, quickly turned her back, and pretended to be asleep.
He thought she was truly asleep, feeling a bit disappointed. He had been busy at the company all day, and wanted to talk to her at night.
He lay down on the bed as if on cue, embraced her body from behind.
"I’m so tired today, but I still want to talk to you."
Sophie slowly opened her eyes, just about to turn around, but then heard his voice continue.
"The company ran into trouble today, but I have no clue. It’s the first ti I’ve felt so defeated at work." His voice was soft and gentle, coming to her ear, afraid to disturb her sleep, yet he couldn’t help but ramble.
"Why am I such a failure?"
"I hate being betrayed."
"..."
Sophie’s body suddenly jolted. He said, I hate being betrayed.
If he knew the person who betrayed him was her...
She squeezed her eyes shut, her body trembling slightly.
Asher Land, holding her body, naturally felt her change.
"Awake?"
Sophie couldn’t continue to play dumb, so she had to turn around to face him.
"What did you just say? I didn’t catch it clearly..."
"Didn’t say anything."
"Oh." She answered softly, indeed, she didn’t want to get entangled in such a topic that made her feel guilty.
"You’re tired, right? Want to take a bath? I’ll help you..."
"You’re going to help bathe?" He smirked with a mischievous smile, gently lifting her chin.
That wasn’t what she ant; she ant she could help get the bath ready, or perhaps help get his robe or sothing...
"I..."
"Alright, let’s happily decide that." He undid her pajamas, tossed them on the floor, then lifted her off the bed and carried her to the bathroom.
His movents were fluid and swift.
Her small hands clung to his neck, her head nuzzling against his chest.
The bathtub was already filled with warm water, and Sophie always felt a bit odd. She was just about to get up, but his tall figure pressed her, leaving her immobile.
"You promised to help bathe."
Did she say that?
"I’ll wait outside."
Asher Land shook his head helplessly. What was she being shy about again?
They had already been ’frankly facing’ each other so many tis...
He stretched out his hand, resting it on the edge of the bathtub. Sophie didn’t lean against him, just sat there a bit stiffly.
"I’m in a bad mood today, comfort ."
Suddenly, Asher Land lifted her body up, letting her sit on him.
She naturally felt a bit uncomfortable between her legs...
"Comfort ." Seeing that she didn’t react, he repeated again like a child.
She didn’t refuse. She knew what he ant by ’comfort,’ and she wasn’t sure if she was doing it because she felt guilty inside, but she knew that no matter how much she tried to agree now, she couldn’t change the fact that she had betrayed him.
"Asher Land, ..." She gasped repeatedly, the swelling pain between her legs growing stronger, she could hardly withstand his force.
"You, slow down..."
Upon hearing her plea, he curbed his impulse, slowing down his pace.
Her hands tightly clung to him, her body already weak and powerless.
Being enveloped by her body felt so good, and after a while, he let out a low growl, finally releasing himself.
Sophie’s fingers slid over her belly, wondering if what she did with Asher Land in a mont of impulse would affect the baby...
