Sophie Smith quietly sat at the dining table, eating breakfast unhurriedly, occasionally taking out her phone to browse today’s news.
On the hopage of the website, a striking headline suddenly caught her eye.
Doctor in Southern County’s hospital morally corrupt, refusing patients, investigated and dismissed, all hospitals will never hire him again.
Below the webpage, there was a clear picture of the person. Sophie rembered; it was yesterday’s troublemaker, the orthopedic departnt head.
She glanced across the table at Asher Land, only to see him leisurely sipping coffee, as if nothing had happened.
Just at that mont, her father called, saying all hospital expenses had been settled, and Jas Smith had been moved to a VIP ward, asking if she did it.
She certainly didn’t have the ability to do these things.
"Thank you for my brother’s expenses..."
"Don’t thank ," Asher interrupted her, "I’m just paying your fee. Your fee is ten million, I’ll pay you 70% first, and the rest after the film ends."
Ten million?
Sophie looked at him in disbelief. Honestly, she had never carefully looked at the contract; she was inherently opposed to the contract matter, especially since Asher had made her sign it without her knowledge. So she didn’t know Asher was offering such a sky-high fee to a newbie like her.
"As an investor, didn’t you offer too much for an actor’s fee? I’m just a newbie, not worth that price." Sophie spoke candidly, knowing Asher, as a businessman, wouldn’t be unaware of balance.
"You are worth it." He curved his lips into a wicked smile, "If you attend to more thoroughly each night, it would be even more worth it."
"You..." He was insulting her indirectly again.
"I say, are you coming back with or not now?" Asher amusingly stared at her. Did this woman eat a lion’s heart today and decide to take him on?
"No." Sophie was determined; she was going to confront him properly this ti.
Though he really wanted to pick her up and throw her into the car, considering her thin skin, he restrained himself.
He suddenly got up and walked away. Sophie thought he was in a hurry to return to the company, leaving her behind, giving her a slight sense of triumph.
She finished breakfast, intending to return to the hotel room, unexpectedly a dark mass of people sward towards her.
"Miss Smith, please, don’t get any wild ideas." A woman in her forties held her hand tightly. Sophie frowned; she didn’t know this person at all.
"Lady, you must have mistaken , I..."
"Oh, your husband told us about your situation. It’s just that he didn’t buy you the ring you wanted, there’s no need to run away from ho. Your husband works hard; you have to be understanding, especially since you have a two-year-old child at ho..."
What is this lady talking about? The more Sophie listened, the less she understood.
"Yes, Miss Smith, one shouldn’t be so materialistic. You should go back with your husband." Soone else chid in.
"I—you guys misunderstood, I don’t have a husband, I haven’t even married yet."
"Nonsense, your husband is so handso, and you still won’t admit it!" Sophie followed the lady’s pointing direction, seeing Asher with his hands in his pockets, wearing a look of amusent.
Damn Asher Land, what exactly did he tell these people?
