"I don’t co back here often, this is Nanny Garcia, the housekeeper here." Asher Land seed to have seen the confusion in Sophie Smith’s heart and explained.
He didn’t know why he brought Sophie Smith ho. Actually, he was quite unfamiliar with the word ’ho.’ His life revolved around work and play; he disliked feeling restrained and never had a fixed residence. He had many houses, but none could truly be called a ho.
"Hello, Nanny Garcia." Sophie Smith greeted the middle-aged woman politely.
"Hello, hello." Nanny Garcia was sowhat taken aback. The young master would occasionally bring won here, but those won were all arrogant, unlike the gentle and elegant woman before her.
Sophie Smith didn’t expect Asher Land would actually bring her ho. However, she knew this didn’t an anything because he must have brought countless won ho before her, and she was just one among them.
The Land Family’s house was huge, but she felt there wasn’t a place she belonged; Asher Land had disappeared sowhere, and Nanny Garcia led her to a room.
"Miss, please rest here for now."
"Nanny Garcia, you can just call Sophie."
"I wouldn’t dare, Miss Smith. Anyone the young master brings ho is a distinguished guest. How could a servant like be disrespectful?"
Sophie Smith was about to say sothing, but Nanny Garcia retreated early.
Having no choice, she idly stayed in the room, playing with her phone.
Her small body sank into the soft large bed. Holding a white silk quilt tightly against her body, drowsiness erged, and she couldn’t help but close her eyes.
She didn’t know how long she had slept, just that, when she opened her eyes, the floor-to-ceiling window revealed a pitch-black night outside. She turned her head and found Asher Land standing by the bedside, looking at her with interest.
"Wh- When did you start standing there?" Sophie Smith suddenly sat up, a little nervous.
"Are you conserving energy for later?"
"What?" Sophie Smith clearly didn’t understand what Asher Land ant.
"After a good day’s sleep, then you’d be refreshed for the night." His gaze was straightforward and openly road underneath her. She understood sowhat what he was thinking.
"No, it’s not like that; I’m still very tired, still lacking energy." After speaking, Sophie Smith laid back down on the bed.
"Haha..." Asher Land seed amused by her actions; Sophie Smith was montarily dazed. This was the first ti she had seen him like this, to know that Usually, he was aloof and composed, very calm, and she basically hadn’t seen him laugh heartily.
Looks like he’s in a good mood now; she suddenly rembered the favor Eva Miller had asked of her earlier. Maybe, if she brought it up while he was happy, her chances of success would be greater.
"Um, can I talk to you about sothing?" She gathered her courage and said to him.
"What is it?"
"I... It’s always exceedingly difficult to ask him, but thinking of Eva Miller’s earnest pleading, she continued with difficulty, "I have a friend who also studies film and acting. I want to ask you if you could, if you could recomnd her for a role? As long as it’s not too minor."
Unbelievably, this woman actually ca to ask him for a favor for her friend, such a rare opportunity; he had to think carefully about what favors to ask of her in return.
"Sophie, you know ; I’m a businessman. Businessn have to consider benefits when doing things."
She knew Asher Land was never one to easily relent.
"But I have no money or influence; I can’t give you what a businessman desires."
"But..."
Asher Land hesitated to speak; Sophie Smith looked as if she saw a glimr of hope, staring intently into his eyes.
