In the morning, when Asher Land woke up, Sophie Smith was still peacefully asleep with her eyes closed.
In recent days, Sophie hadn’t been sleeping well because of Little Alexander’s situation, but with Asher by her side, she unexpectedly fell into a deep sleep.
Naturally, Asher didn’t have the heart to wake her and let her sleep until she woke up on her own.
Although he was also worried about his son, for now, the old man would not harm Alexander as long as he didn’t give in. If the old man dared to lay a finger on Alexander, he would definitely fight to the bitter end.

"Shall we go sowhere this morning? I want to take you to et soone."
Sophie was confused, "Where to? Who are we eting?"
"You’ll find out when we get there, don’t ask so many questions."
"Oh." She obediently responded.
Sophie took out an elegant pink rmaid dress from the closet, about to change, but was stopped by Asher.
He carefully selected from her wardrobe and finally picked out a solemn and conservative black dress.
"Wear this."
Sophie didn’t understand his intention, but whatever he wanted her to wear, she would wear it.
Robert Williams opened the car door for them, then sat in the driver’s seat.
"President Land, where to?"
"The usual place."
Robert asked no further questions, started the car, and drove towards the ’usual place’ he ntioned.
The weather was quite nice today, around twenty degrees, neither too cold nor too warm.
The car drove away from the bustling central streets towards a beautifully serene but slightly desolate place. After about an hour and a half, the car finally stopped.
When Sophie saw the neat, yet extraordinarily solemn gravestones, her eyes showed a hint of surprise.
"Asher, this is..."
"I brought you to see my mother, she would have liked you very much. Oh, by the way, I probably never told you, your smile is quite like hers..."
Asher’s tone suddenly softened a lot, yet faintly, Sophie could sense a trace of loss, a tinge of sadness in his voice...
He held her hand, leading her to his mother’s gravestone.
Sophie gazed at the woman in the black-and-white photograph, montarily lost in thought.
Without exaggeration, Asher’s mother was truly a stunning beauty of national acclaim.
Her skin was as smooth as cream, lips red, teeth white, and when she smiled gently, there were two charming dimples on her cheeks. She exuded an air of nobility, as if she was unstained by worldly concerns, seemingly untouched by mortal affairs.
"Asher, a woman as beautiful and graceful as your mother must have lived on the clouds, right?"
Adored, admired...
"On the clouds?" He let out a light laugh, "She didn’t live on the clouds, rather, she spent so ti in Hell."
Sophie’s body suddenly trembled, she looked up at him, shocked.
"Do you know why Enzo Land kept calling a bastard child?" His gaze was fixed on the photograph on the gravestone, Sophie didn’t respond, just quietly waited for him to continue.
It seed like a long ti passed before his icy voice ca from above her head.
