"If you don’t like it, just forget it. I didn’t force you to accept it." Sophie Smith knew that by doing so, she was already overstepping boundaries. How could she control Asher Land? It was truly wishful thinking.
"Of course, you don’t have the right to make accept it."
"But, my co-star friend is really very pretty. Her na is Jessica Wood..."
"Do I look like such a shallow man?" Asher Land waved his hand. "I don’t take interest in a woman just because she’s pretty."
"You..." Sophie secretly complained in her heart. Clearly, he couldn’t handle seeing a beautiful woman and yet pretended to be so reserved here.
The atmosphere in the car beca a bit awkward because of what Sophie had just said. A sudden and abrupt phone ringtone broke the silence inside the car.
It was a call from Edward Harrison.
Sophie was about to step out of the car, but Asher Land pulled her back.
"What kind of call do you have to take outside? Who’s calling?" Asher Land asked as he tried to grab her phone. Sophie tightly hid the phone behind her.
"Don’t be like this. It’s just a friend." Sophie was sowhat helpless. Ever since being with Asher Land, her personal space was completely taken over by him.
The phone kept ringing. In front of Asher Land, she couldn’t answer it and she couldn’t ignore it either.
Unexpectedly, Asher Land snatched the phone from behind her, answered the call, and put it on speaker.
"Hello, you..."
"Little Sophie." Edward Harrison’s warm voice ca from the other end of the line. Sophie had no choice but to respond. Asher Land held the phone with an expression as though he was about to watch a good show.
He wanted to see what kind of relationship she had with that man, and why that man called her Little Sophie?
"Edward, I’m on set right now. Do you need sothing?" She was just hinting that she was filming, wanting to hang up the call. After all, that Demon, Asher Land, was now beside her, watching closely.
"Little Sophie, have you been busy lately? Do you have ti to co back to school?"
"I..." Sophie looked at Asher Land, and he nodded towards her.
"I have ti."
"That’s good." Edward Harrison breathed a sigh of relief, "It’s like this. Next Saturday is the annual school drama competition. Will you co to watch?"
Sophie knew Edward was participating in this competition, and she really wanted to go back to school to watch him perform.
She looked at Asher Land with a slightly pleading gaze. At this mont, she couldn’t quite figure out what he was thinking. Given Asher Land’s character, he probably wouldn’t let her go see another man, would he?
Who would have thought, Asher Land actually nodded.
Sophie suppressed her inner excitent, "I’ll be there."
Edward hung up, and Sophie let out a deep breath in her heart.
"Who exactly is he to you?" Asher Land questioned.
"Didn’t I say he’s just an ordinary friend?" Even after hanging up, Asher Land wouldn’t let her off the hook.
Sophie was vexed, wondering how to explain when suddenly soone knocked on the car window. Sophie opened the door, and it was Anna.
"Sister Anna."
Anna directly ignored Sophie and looked behind her.
"President Land, I have sothing I’d like to discuss with you." Anna said to Asher Land in a voice that was extrely charming.
"You go out first." Asher Land told Sophie.
Like receiving a pardon, Sophie hurriedly got out of the car.
She stood in a corner, watching the motionless car, wondering what they were doing inside.
In no ti, Anna ca out, and Sophie noticed a red mark on her neck.
Asher Land, he was simply a beast that could get aroused with anyone, anywhere. And he had the nerve to say he wasn’t shallow, yet he’s so shallow it’s unbearable to even look at!
Sophie cursed inwardly.
