"Sister Sophie is here with Mr. Davis to attend my engagent party with Brother Asher today. I think she’s still in the banquet hall and hasn’t left," Irene answered.
"Bring her to ," Nathan Land said deeply to Enzo Land beside him, "And don’t let Asher or Nolan Davis find out."
Enzo Land nodded and casually walked out.
Sophie Smith had been wandering outside the banquet hall, glancing at her watch. It seed she’d been out for thirty minutes, rembering Nolan Davis had said to et in thirty minutes. So, she was about to head back to the banquet hall.
But before she could move forward, she turned and found soone blocking her way.
"Miss Smith, I’d like to invite you sowhere to talk. My brother has sothing he wants to discuss with you," Enzo Land said with a sly smile, making Sophie feel uneasy.
"Can you wait a mont? I want to speak to Mr. Davis. He’s outside waiting for ..."
"There’s no need. It’ll be quick," Enzo Land insisted, disregarding her resistance, dragging her by the hand towards a room.
"Let go of , I don’t want to go right now!" Sophie disregarded manners and image, tried to shake him off, but despite struggling, it was useless. In her struggle, strands of her hair fell loose, leaving her disheveled.
She was brought into the room by Enzo Land.
The door slamd shut with a bang, followed by the sound of a lock clicking.
It turned out that Nathan Land wasn’t the only one in the room. Irene Morton, Colton Morton, and several burly n were standing by...
"What do you want to do..." Sophie was frightened by the eerie atmosphere in the room. Irene Morton was smirking, mocking at her current anxious state.
"Sister Sophie, I really didn’t expect you to be this kind of person. Yes, Brother Asher used to love you a lot, but now he’s about to get engaged. Why can’t you let him go and let go?" Irene’s performance was indeed convincing; monts ago, her eyes were gleaming with joy seeing Sophie in fear, the next mont she looked helpless and teary, as if she’d suffered a great injustice.

"You’re still lying." Irene pulled out her cellphone, opened the gallery, and showed Sophie pictures of her and Asher Land embracing in the restroom, "Here’s the evidence. You can’t say I fabricated them, right? Look, you’re wearing the exact sa clothes as in the photo!"
It turned out Irene had been following Asher Land, which is why she managed to take those pictures.
Sophie remained silent, unsure of how to explain.
"Sister Sophie, does your silence an you’re admitting it? Well, the evidence is clear, speaking more is pointless." Irene pressed closer, throwing the cellphone at her, "Do you think you’re being true to your conscience? Are you so eager to break others apart?"
Irene always positioned herself as the victim, confident that everyone in the room would stand by her. Yes, she’s the Morton Clan Group’s heiress, and now the fiancée of Asher Land. No one would speak for Sophie, the outsider.
