She walked barefoot to his bed, her gaze lingering on him and not moving away for a long ti.
"Brother Asher, let’s make another deal."
He seed uninterested in what she said, simply turning his back to her without responding for a long ti.
She now truly felt like she was a chewed-up piece of gum, no matter how much others wanted to throw her away, she disgustingly clung to them.
She once again took off her pajamas, climbed into his bed, and hugged his sturdy waist from behind, her small hand ready to untie his robe belt. But before she could touch it, he pushed her away, frustrated, got out of bed, picked up a cigarette, lit it, and took a few puffs.
"I’ve said all the kind words to you, and I’ve restrained my temper, so don’t push your luck."
"Brother Asher, what if I say, as long as you let have a child, I... I’ll leave you?" She twisted her fingers in anxiety. Perhaps she could already predict his reaction, yet there remained a sliver of hope in her heart.
To be with him, she had resorted to every possible ans.
"Would I believe you?" A graceful curve appeared at the corner of his lips, but his words carried full sarcasm, "Not just anyone can have a child for , Asher Land. I think I don’t need to tell you again that no one can replace Sophie Smith in my heart. The one who can bear my child is only her."
"I’ll give you one more minute. If you don’t get dressed and leave, I’ll call another man to my room to ’take care’ of you properly."
"You..." Irene’s eyes turned red, her body trembling uncontrollably. However, she wanted to see just how far he could go!
"Fine, go ahead, call another man to rape then! I’m not afraid; I’m not leaving you today!"
Asher was speechless, Irene’s temperant was the sa as before, still willful, still proud. He shook his head helplessly, grabbed a few pieces of clothing from the wardrobe, and headed to the bathroom. After about ten minutes, he erged in a neat suit.
"If you won’t leave, I will, alright?" He no longer wanted to get involved with her, turned around, and was about to leave.
Irene, in a frenzy, ran in front of him, blocking his path, tiptoed, and kissed his thin lips.

This feeling of temporarily numbing his consciousness really felt good.
Now, in his mind, aside from that woman and that child, he really wished to think of nothing else.
"President Land, are we going sowhere?"
Robert didn’t understand why Asher Land called him out in the middle of the night. He had been sitting in the car for over two hours, smoking non-stop, but not speaking.
He glanced at the ti; it was twenty-five minutes past ten at night.
Was she asleep?
Hesitant, he dialed her phone number over and over, but each ti it was swiftly hung up by him.
