Nanny Garcia thought of this, and couldn’t help feeling a bit sad.
She took Alexander upstairs. Alexander was very obedient; he didn’t need to be coaxed to sleep, wasn’t afraid of the dark, and was very brave. As soon as he was tucked in, he started sleeping.
Nanny Garcia turned off the lights and quietly left the room.
Returning to the living room, she saw Sophie Smith sitting on the sofa, holding a glass of clear water in both hands, her gaze lost in so unknown place.
Nanny Garcia sighed softly and walked over.
"Miss Smith, it’s so late, why are you still not resting?"
"Oh, it’s nothing... Anyway, I can’t sleep right now."
She had a habit of insomnia; night after night, she just couldn’t close her eyes. She preferred staying awake enduring one black night after another than to fall asleep into a mind full of nightmares.
"Still no news of the young master?"
Nanny Garcia hesitated but couldn’t help asking the question.
How could soone vanish into thin air, like they evaporated from the world, for four years?
More so if that person was Asher Land.
"Nanny Garcia, do you think he doesn’t want anymore, doesn’t want Alexander?" A bitter smile appeared on her lips, and she tightened her grip on the glass of water.
"How could that be? The young master adored and cherished you, Miss Smith, the most. How could he abandon you?"
"But, it’s been four years. Why hasn’t he co to find ?"
She didn’t know what had happened to make him completely disappear. Nolan Davis and Luke Land were doing everything they could to help her find him, yet they couldn’t.
If he was still alive in this world, there was only one possibility—he didn’t want to see her.
If he wanted to, he could find her anyti, anywhere. If he didn’t want to, no matter how hard anyone tried, they couldn’t find a trace of him.
Nanny Garcia wanted to say a few comforting words, but Sophie stood up.
She held onto the railing, walking slowly upstairs.
She turned on the lights in the master bedroom. Everything inside was exactly as it had been four years ago. Standing at the doorway, she looked at those familiar things, those familiar scenes, and her eyes began to sting.
She seed to see his figure: one hand propping his head, lying on his side on the bed, then calling her na.
Sophie, co over.
There was a hint of impatience in his voice.
Sophie took a step closer to the bed and lay down.
Her small body clung tightly to the soft bedding. She tried hard to feel more of his scent, a little more, just a little more...
But the things remain, while the people have changed; her feelings were beyond despair.

The next morning, she sensed a little noise beside her ear.
Sophie opened her eyes and looked at the crystal chandelier above her head, taking three seconds to comprehend.
Last night, on this familiar bed, she miraculously fell asleep and slept very soundly.
"Mommy, you should take to school now," Alexander said calmly beside her.
"Sorry, sorry..." Sophie scrambled out of bed, glancing at the alarm clock by the bed. It was eight-ten; Alexander was already late for school.
Damn, how did she oversleep?
"Don’t worry, take your ti." Alexander sat on the sofa with a book in his hand, occasionally glancing up to watch Sophie rushing around the room, shaking his head repeatedly.
Sophie hurriedly got changed and ready.
"Alexander, let’s go to school." She grabbed the school bag and said anxiously to Alexander.
"You should eat breakfast first."
"Huh?" Sophie glanced at her watch, "You’re already late!"
How could she have the state of mind to eat breakfast?
