For three consecutive days, Asher Land hadn’t co to the apartnt where Sophie Smith was staying, leaving Sophie feeling sowhat indescribable.
"Alexander..." she glanced at Alexander, who was tinkering with his racing toys on the sofa in the living room, her expression hesitant.
"Mommy? What’s up?" Alexander, without even lifting his head, remained completely focused on his toy racing cars.
"Can Mommy ask you sothing?" Sophie relaxed her tone, trying to engage Alexander in better communication.
"Go ahead, if I can answer, I will definitely tell Mommy."
"When Uncle took you to school last ti, did you say sothing that upset him?"
Alexander’s small hands paused, but he still didn’t raise his head.
"No." Alexander replied sullenly, actually, it was that uncle who made him cry, how could he possibly make him angry?
"Then why hasn’t Uncle been coming to our house?" Sophie looked seriously at Alexander, "Mommy misses him, you know? If it’s because of you not letting Uncle co over, Mommy, Mommy might be a little upset..."
Sophie wasn’t sure if her threat would work, she truly just wanted Alexander and Asher to spend more ti alone together, that’s all.
Upset?
Alexander suddenly raised his head, and at that mont Sophie instinctively beca serious, frowning, she turned her head to the side.
"Mommy, how did you know I didn’t want Uncle to co to our ho..." Feeling embarrassed for being caught, Alexander expressed.
Did Alexander really say sothing to Asher?
Oh my, what would Asher think, could he be exploding with anger?
"Mommy..." Alexander cautiously tugged at Sophie’s sleeve, he was most afraid of her when she was angry.
Although she never used to get angry with him, lately, because of that uncle, she already had two angry episodes...
"Mommy, don’t be angry, next ti, next ti I’ll apologize to Uncle." Alexander lowered his head, speaking softly.
How could she bear to get angry with a child? Alexander was too well-behaved and sensible; if she truly were mad at him, it would surely hurt him.
"Alright, Alexander, Mommy’s not blaming you, it’s just that Mommy wants you to know you must get along well with Uncle, okay? One day, I, Uncle, and you, the three of us will live together, do you understand?"
Alexander seed partially understanding, "Living together every day like that?"
"Yes, like, like a family of three, Daddy, Mommy, and their precious child..."
Sophie gave so hints, hoping clever Alexander could grasp sothing from it.
But, unfortunately, Alexander’s cleverness was not apparent at this mont.
"Uncle’s not my daddy though..."

Sophie sighed softly, unable to say anything more.

At around four in the afternoon, Sophie received a phone call from Nanny Garcia.
"Miss Smith." Nanny Garcia’s voice was laced with uncontrollable excitent, "Is the young master back? I saw him in a magazine!"
Nanny Garcia was overwheld with excitent; despite her age, she wasn’t usually one to follow news matters so closely, but today she had inadvertently glanced at a certain financial magazine, and saw Asher Land on its cover.
