As Asher Land walked away, Nanny Garcia approached Sophie Smith and Alexander from behind.
"Nanny Garcia, please don’t say anything, okay?" Sophie’s eyes were sincere.
"Miss Smith, do you really not want the young master and master to recognize each other?" Nanny Garcia’s tone was a bit helpless. All these years, Sophie had been hoping for Asher Land’s return, hoping for a father-son reunion, but now...
"Nanny Garcia, there’s no need to worry." Surprisingly, Sophie looked quite relaxed at the mont. She glanced down at Alexander, who was already walking ahead to catch up with Asher Land, and softly spoke, "I believe the day when they recognize each other won’t be too far away."
Nanny Garcia was busy in the kitchen preparing dinner, while Sophie was assisting.
Inside the study.
"Uncle, what’s wrong?" Alexander’s little body stood at the doorway, noticing Asher Land sitting at the desk, staring at a photo and appearing sowhat lost.
"Nothing." Asher Land casually collected his emotions, gently placing the photo fra down. Alexander found it odd and moved closer. He reached his toes, trying to grab the photo Asher had covered...
But, unfortunately, the desk was too high for him to reach.
Just as Alexander felt troubled, he suddenly felt his body being lifted.
With amazing ease, Asher lifted Alexander with one hand to sit on his lap.
"What are you doing?" Alexander displayed a shocked expression.
Asher said nothing, only reaching out to open the closed photo, turning it toward him.
"It’s Mommy and Uncle..." Alexander murmured.
In the photo, the two of them resembled the most beautiful scenery, and Alexander suddenly felt that his mommy and this uncle really matched well together.
"Uncle, have you known Mommy for a long ti?" Alexander raised his little head and asked word by word.
"Yes."
"Longer than Uncle Bishop?"
"Yes."
Alexander felt puzzled, "Why have you known Mommy longer than Uncle Bishop, yet I’ve never seen you?"
Of course, Asher was not going to seriously delve into why his son hadn’t seen him over the past four years. He remained silent, while Alexander rely sensed a bit of tension in the atmosphere, wanting to get off him. But Asher’s arm was strong, leaving Alexander unable to get down.
So when Sophie walked into the study, she saw Asher sitting silently with Alexander on his lap in front of the desk.
It was truly a picture-perfect scene that made it hard to look away.
"Ti for dinner," Sophie lightly knocked on the door, and only then did Asher co to his senses. He placed Alexander down, his face showing a trace of discomfort.
Sophie knew that his awkwardness had kicked in again.
Clearly, he wanted to hug the child, but he just had to act ’reserved.’
Asher bypassed her and walked downstairs to the dining room.
"Alexander, quickly tell Mommy, what did Uncle do to you? What did he say?" Sophie was still very curious.
"Nothing." Alexander shook his head, "He didn’t say anything, just held . I asked him questions, but he wouldn’t answer."
Alexander didn’t pay any more attention to Sophie and followed Asher’s steps downstairs.
In the dining room, a table full of delicious dishes was mouthwatering.
"Granny Garcia, it’s always better here. Usually, the food I eat with Mommy is not good at all."
Alexander spoke straightforwardly, making Sophie extrely embarrassed. Asher glanced at her awkward expression and couldn’t help but curl his lips.
