When everyone saw Sophie Smith get into Asher Land’s car, the gossip started up again.
"Isn’t that Sophie Smith, the lead actress of City of Desire? Ha, it looks like there’s definitely so unspeakable secret behind how she got this role!"

Edward Harrison’s face was a bit pale. He clenched his fists unconsciously, his tall body trembling slightly. He watched the car disappear from sight, with an emotion in his eyes that was hard to discern.

"Who is he to you?" Inside the car, Asher Land’s eyes were icy. He asked disapprovingly. He rembered seeing that man once; she hugged him at the school gate. He’s a sharp guy, so she couldn’t expect to dismiss him this ti with the typical ’just friends’ excuse.
"You already know in your heart, so why ask?" Sophie understood she couldn’t hide from his eyes, she just hoped he wouldn’t hurt Edward.
"I want to hear it from your mouth!"
Asher Land slamd on the brakes. Due to the inertia, Sophie’s body was thrown forward harshly.
"He’s the one I like."
The one she likes? Ha, she finally spoke the truth! Even though he didn’t want to hear it, it was better than her falsely telling him that man was just an ordinary friend.
"Oh, then should I consider how to get rid of this thorn in my side, this nuisance?" Asher Land sneered, "You’re getting bolder, daring to et with another man behind my back?"
"No!" Sophie’s originally calm deanor instantly collapsed, "Please, don’t hurt him, okay?"
Asher Land’s hand tightly gripped the steering wheel, wishing he could crush it. Sophie didn’t know why he was angry. He disliked hearing lies, but he also disliked hearing the truth. What did he want from her? Whatever she did or said, he was never satisfied. Since that was the case, why did he keep soone who offended him around?
"If you’re tired of ..."
"Shut up!" Asher Land sneered; he knew what she was thinking. He didn’t need her to remind him at every mont.
"Asher Land, why do you insist on keeping by your side? I can see you hate , and being around you only makes you upset, why bother..."
"Sophie, keeping you by my side is a sign of my regard for you, don’t be ungrateful."
This woman infuriated him with her skills; not long ago, he felt guilty toward her, wanting to make ands, yet she always managed to shift his intentions.
"You have so many won around, why insist on keeping ?"
"Enough!" Asher Land’s eyes were full of impatience, "Don’t think so highly of yourself. I can do without you."
Sophie turned her head toward the window, feeling increasingly desperate.
Seeing her silent, Asher Land had a flash of regret. This wasn’t his intention; he didn’t an to say such hurtful things to her, but sotis her stubbornness, her determination to leave him angered him.
Sophie’s phone suddenly rang; it was her assistant, Julia Brown, calling.
