"I want you to help investigate the car accident from four years ago. Who was behind it?" Asher Land asked, enunciating each word firmly.
"Who... was behind it?"
Luke Land was puzzled. Wasn’t it that the car accident four years ago happened because of bad weather and the driver’s distraction, leading to tragedy? But now, hearing Asher’s tone, it seed he was convinced that the accident wasn’t rely a coincidence, but soone deliberately caused it.
"Hah." Asher, who had been maintaining a stern face, suddenly let out a light laugh, a trace of self-mocking smile appearing at the corner of his mouth. "Actually, you don’t even have to investigate. I already know who it was. I just wanted so evidence, didn’t expect to fall because of that old fox Enzo Land."
"Enzo Land again?" Luke looked at Asher in disbelief, "Are you saying, the car accident, Enzo was the mastermind behind it? Not only did he want to assassinate you, cause chaos at the press conference, and put Golden Era at a disadvantage, but he also orchestrated the car accident four years ago?"
"You got it wrong." Asher rubbed the diamond ring on his hand and said calmly, "Just because the car accident four years ago didn’t kill , he took further actions four years later. During the years I disappeared, at my weakest, he didn’t stop looking for , just didn’t find . Now, exposed to the dia, he found where I was and wants to make a coback."
In fact, just carefully thinking it through, one could easily deduce the cause and effect. Unfortunately, he had been kept in the dark for four whole years.
That car accident changed so much for him. Asher Land has always been one to seek revenge, so...
"What are you planning to do?" Luke asked, feeling uncertain.
Actually, what else could be done?
Asher Land’s simplest style was to give a taste of one’s own dicine.
"Are you thinking of giving him a car accident in return, or assassinating him?" Luke ventured to ask.
"That will depend on my mood." His lips curled into a cruel, bloodthirsty smile that made Luke’s scalp tingle.
Knowing the truth, he suddenly felt a sense of relief.
In the afternoon, around three, he started feeling unwell and decided to return to the hospital for a check-up.
As the car drove down a long street, Asher suddenly called out to stop.
Robert Williams, unsure why, still pulled over.
Asher turned his head, almost unknowingly, finding the car had reached the entrance of Alexander’s kindergarten.
School was out now, with children laughing and noisily pouring out of the gate.
Asher stared at the entrance for a while until he saw Alexander being led out by a young teacher holding his hand.
He didn’t join in the surrounding clamor, his small hands in his school uniform pockets, standing quietly as if waiting for soone to take him ho.
"President Land... do you need to get out of the car?" Robert Williams also saw Alexander, though he couldn’t guess his boss’s thoughts at the mont.
Robert glanced at Asher through the rearview mirror, noting his boss’s pale face, not looking very well.
"President Land, perhaps we should head to the hospital now."
As Robert was about to start the car, Asher opened the door, long legs stepping out, and walked towards the little one standing at the entrance.
