Irene Morton felt as if her whole body was about to fall apart. She rubbed her wrist, which was throbbing from his grip, her eyes misty with tears.
"Brother Asher, I’m sorry..."
"Do you think saying that to now is useful?" Asher Land yanked her up from the ground and pinned her against the cold wall, his large hand gripping her pale neck, his dark eyes blazing like a fire.
"Let go, let go..." Irene’s face was as white as paper, struggling to catch her breath.
"I’m telling you, if you dare to have any thoughts about Sophie Smith again, if she dies, you won’t live either!"
"Asher!" Colton Morton and Luke Land heard the commotion and rushed over from the next room.
Seeing that things were out of control, Luke Land quickly pushed Asher Land away.
"What’s happened again?" It was the umpteenth ti he’d seen Asher Land look as if he wished Irene would die.
"Asher, what exactly did Irene do to wrong you that you have to treat her like this?" Colton Morton coldly snorted, standing in front of Asher Land, his face livid.
"What did she do to wrong ?" Asher Land sneered, "Ask her yourself!"
"Hey, Irene, are you plotting against Sophie again?" Luke Land seed very familiar with Irene’s antics, "If you want to stay alive, stop provoking her."
"Why should I?" Irene couldn’t stand seeing Asher Land worry and get angry over Sophie Smith. The scars hadn’t healed, and she’d already forgotten the pain. It seed she had brushed aside Asher Land’s attempt to strangle her and couldn’t help but resist him again.
"Yes, I do want Sophie Smith dead, and I’m willing to die with her!" Irene had a look of defiance, "Today I didn’t hit her with my car, but one day, I will make sure she dies. You only have two choices: first, kill ; or second, don’t be with her or marry her. You decide!"
"Kill you?" The disdain in Asher Land’s voice grew even more evident, "Maybe that’s a good idea."
"You!" Irene was furious, knowing she couldn’t possibly match him.
Colton Morton and Luke Land hadn’t been involved in the whole incident but seed to understand sothing from what Irene said.
"Is Sophie okay?" Luke Land asked with so concern.
Asher Land turned his back to them, standing by the floor-to-ceiling window, his hands behind him clenched into fists, trembling with rage.
"Is she okay or not?" Luke Land felt uneasy. Seeing how rigid things were between Asher Land and Irene, he thought, sothing bad must have happened.
"She’s fine." Two cold words escaped his mouth.
"But soone died for her."
Asher Land lowered his eyes. At that mont, he truly didn’t know how to describe his feelings.
Toward Wyatt Sterling, he had once been disdainful and even hostile.
But now, Wyatt had saved his woman without hesitation.
He couldn’t bear to think, if the one lying beneath the wheels had truly been Sophie, what would he have done?
Thinking this, he wondered if he was heartless, feeling guilt and gratitude, any kind of sorrowful emotion toward Wyatt Sterling...
He took a deep breath from his heart and slowly exhaled.
The room was deathly silent. Asher Land didn’t speak, and no one dared to make a sound.
