But as soon as she finished speaking, she felt it was inappropriate. Was she really using that tone to speak to Asher Land right in front of Wyatt Sterling?
"Both of my eyes saw it." Asher Land pointed to his own eyes, "So don’t even think about denying it."
Deny?
Who exactly is the troublemaker here!
To Wyatt Sterling, the bickering between Sophie Smith and Asher Land seed like a sweet exchange. Everyone in their circle knew that Asher Land had countless won around him, yet Sophie had stayed by his side for so long, and now he seed to treat her like a cherished treasure.
It appeared that Sophie Smith was indeed an extraordinary woman, managing to hold Asher Land’s heart for such a long ti.
"You guys continue chatting. Excuse ." Wyatt Sterling said calmly.
Once Wyatt Sterling had walked away, Sophie finally snapped back to reality.
"Feeling disappointed?" Asher Land taunted sarcastically.
"No." Sophie replied coldly.
At this mont, Asher Land was simply a jar of jealousy. Edward Harrison and Wyatt Sterling were just her friends, but why did it seem in his eyes like she had so kind of unspeakable relationship with them?
On second thought, maybe this was just Asher Land’s personality. How could soone like him be jealous for her? He just couldn’t stand his things being touched by others.
"Let’s go."
"The dinner isn’t over yet!"
"Better to leave early than for you to ’attract more bees and butterflies’ here."
Sophie was speechless. Who exactly was the one better at attracting bees and butterflies?
...
Asher Land took her back to the hillside villa where they had been before. Nanny Garcia warmly ca out to greet them. She had a favorable impression of Sophie.
"Miss Smith, what kind of food do you like? I’ll have the kitchen prepare it."
"Sweet and sour ribs, braised pork with potatoes." Asher Land unexpectedly replied.
"Huh?" Nanny Garcia was confused, "Miss Smith, is what the young master said true?"
Sophie looked at Asher Land in puzzlent. The last ti they ate together at a small street restaurant, she ordered those dishes. She hadn’t expected him to rember her tastes; this side of Asher seed different from usual.
Sophie nodded, and Nanny Garcia was surprised that the young master had been so attentive, even rembering Sophie’s preferences.
"Are there any won’s clothes here?" Sophie felt a bit uncomfortable in her tight-fitting dress and wanted to change into sothing casual. She thought that since Asher would likely bring won ho, it wouldn’t be surprising if there were won’s clothes here.
"Why would there be?" Asher Land didn’t know what Sophie was thinking; indeed, there were no won’s clothes at his place.
"Then I’ll borrow so from the maids. This dress is quite uncomfortable."
So she was asking if there were clothes for this reason. He nodded thoughtfully.
"I think there are so in my room."
As expected, for a man like him who often had won around, there would surely be won’s clothes at ho.
Sophie headed straight to his room upstairs. Asher Land’s lips curled into a satisfied, mischievous smile, and he followed her up the stairs.
In the room, Sophie rummaged through everything — the bed, the bathroom, she searched everywhere but still couldn’t find anything. Asher was ssing with her again.
Just as she was about to leave the room, Asher suddenly appeared, his tall, sturdy figure blocking the doorway.
"Where are the clothes? I couldn’t find them."
"Oh." Asher leaned against the doorfra, wearing an innocent smile, "If you couldn’t find them, then just forget about it."
