"Why are you crying? Don’t you need your eyes?" he frowned, picking up a tissue to wipe her tears from the corner of her eye.
Sophie Smith turned her head away, a trace of discomfort on her face.
He gently pinched her chin, turned her face toward him, lowered his head, cupped her cheeks, and kissed her deeply.
The passionate, lingering kiss made her heart race wildly, and she even found it a bit hard to breathe.
Asher Land still showed no intention of letting her go.
She uneasily pushed his chest; she ant to use so force, but she didn’t know where he had surgery. What if she pushed too hard and hurt him?
So, she decisively allowed him to kiss until he was satisfied.
When his lips finally left hers, she breathed a sigh of relief.
Seeing her blushing face and shortness of breath, he couldn’t help but find it amusing.
"Is it because I haven’t touched you for more than two months that you’ve beco unfamiliar with it?"
It wasn’t like this when they kissed before.
"No way, it’s your skills that have worsened," Sophie retorted.
"Hmm?" The man narrowed his eyes dangerously.
"Just pretend I didn’t say anything," Sophie lowered her head, lacking the courage to argue.
Seeing him like this now, it seed like he was recovering quite well.
She couldn’t help but relax a lot.
"By the way, it’s so late, where did you go?" She thought he was sleeping well in the hospital room.
"Couldn’t sleep, went to the rooftop to look at the stars and get so fresh air."
He was telling the truth. These days, he’d been suffering from insomnia because she wasn’t by his side.
"How could you do that?" Sophie’s tone was a bit complaining, "You’re a patient, and the most important thing for a patient is rest, yet you go to the rooftop in the middle of the night to get so air?"
"Why are you so worried about ?" He nonchalantly twirled her soft, jet-black hair with his fingers, inhaling the fragrance of her hair.
Sophie took a few steps back, then looked up at him earnestly, her serious expression leaving Asher Land slightly stunned.
"You’re my future husband, of course I’m worried about you. If anything happened to you, I’d be left to be a widow, wouldn’t I?"
Husband? Widow?
In Asher Land’s mind, only these two words were caught.
"You an... you agreed to marry ?" His eyes were gleaming.
"We’ve already gotten the marriage certificate, and had a child too. Didn’t you ntion in the recording that you’d take to Bali Island for a wedding ceremony? Don’t tell ... you’re planning to go back on your word." Sophie feigned a serious expression.
He stared at her intently for a long ti before finally realizing.
"I, Asher Land, will never break my promise to you, and of course, I will never let you be a widow either." His large hand aningfully covered her chest, kneading through the thin fabric of her dress for a while, "Not only will you not be a widow, but I’ll also make you very happy in... that way."
Sophie was speechless.
Asher bent down his tall body and scooped her up in his arms.
"Put down, your body isn’t ready yet."
She was alluding to the fact that he hadn’t had surgery very long ago and might not be able to lift her; what if it tore his wound?
"Ready or not? You’ll know if you try it."
He misunderstood her aning.
He placed her on the hospital bed. Fortunately, his hospital bed was king-size, quite large and spacious.
"Asher Land, let’s... take our ti, not tonight..."
It was so late; he should rest early, shouldn’t he?
