Naoki could feel a gaze lingering on him for a mont, then it turned away.
"What’s the matter? Did you see soone you know?" A tycoon across the table teased.
"It’s nothing." Giovanni’s tone was indifferent: "Just an insignificant person, co, let’s continue."
The two resud their discussion about their collaboration.
Naoki recalled the scene in his mind, and couldn’t help but exclaim in his heart: "So sharp! As expected of Boss Giovanni from Team Rocket!"
anwhile, Alder also spotted the CEO of Rotom Technology Company among the group of tycoons, and he motioned:
"That’s the person you’re looking for. Didn’t you write a proposal before? Do you want to pass it on to him?"
Naoki nodded: "Sure."
But just then, a crisp voice suddenly ca from the front.
"Boss Clay, I want to challenge you!"
Naoki looked up and saw Nemona, dressed in a little skirt, standing spiritedly in front of Boss Clay.
She held a Poke Ball in her hand, clearly intending to battle Boss Clay in a Pokemon match.
Boss Clay laughed heartily at her words: "As expected of Miss Nemona! Alright, you’re full of spirit. In that case, let have a great match with you!"
After speaking, Boss Clay turned to the others: "You guys carry on, don’t mind us!"
The other tycoons jokingly teased little Nemona a bit.
Nemona’s father, a middle-aged man wearing glasses and a suit, looked helpless, seemingly quite troubled by his daughter’s behavior.
He had two daughters. The eldest was born early and learned all sorts of manners from a young age, and unsurprisingly grew up to beco an all-around wealthy lady.
So, he and his wife adopted a laissez-faire approach when raising their second daughter, Nemona.
This resulted in Nemona’s carefree personality, that free-spirited, fiery deanor, which was hardly like that of a graceful young lady from a wealthy family.
But what could they do?
She was their precious daughter, and as long as she was happy, that was enough.
Thinking this, the man followed his daughter and Boss Clay to the battle arena in the courtyard.
Nemona was the first to send out her Pokemon.
It was a young dragon baby on all fours, with scales of varying sizes covering it, the most notable being the heart-shaped scale on top of its head.
"A pseudo-legendary Pokemon from the Alola Region, Jangmo-o." Naoki silently recited the Pokemon’s na in his mind.
Jangmo-o, which would eventually evolve into the powerful Kommo-o.
No wonder, being the daughter of a big boss... Nemona hadn’t even turned ten to start her journey, yet she already had a highly talented pseudo-legendary Pokemon.
This kind of start is simply not sothing those random Insect-Catching Youths on the roadside can compare to!
In response to Nemona’s Jangmo-o, Boss Clay sent out an Excadrill to battle.
Jangmo-o versus Excadrill.
One was a novice Pokemon just starting out, while the other was a Gym Leader level Excadrill that had undergone professional training and plenty of honing.
The outco of this battle was decided even before it began.
But Boss Clay seed to have his own plans.
With one look, Excadrill understood his intention. It cooperated willingly with its trainer, putting on an act, deliberately being hit by Jangmo-o’s moves, and dramatically took a fall under everyone’s gaze.
Excadrill couldn’t get back up.
The attendant, acting as referee, stepped forward to examine, then declared: "Excadrill is unable to continue battling. This match is won by Miss Nemona!"
Boss Clay retrieved the "fainted" Excadrill with a Poke Ball, and with a "troubled" expression, said: "Oh dear! We lost! You’re getting better and better, little girl!"
Though Nemona was carefree, she wasn’t stupid. She instantly saw through Boss Clay’s playfulness.
"You did it on purpose!"
Boss Clay, wearing an innocent face, shrugged: "No, it’s because you’ve improved!"
"Ahhh!" Nemona was very angry, but unable to find a retort, she finally pouted and shouted: "I’m not talking to you anymore!"
"Hahaha!"
The tycoons present were amused by Nemona’s antics.
Nemona glanced around. She was about to turn and run off to find another strong Trainer to battle, but just then, she suddenly spotted a familiar figure in the crowd.
Nemona’s eyes lit up, and she enthusiastically waved: "Mr. Naoki! You ca to the party too!"
As Nemona’s words fell, everyone present turned their gaze toward him in unison.
Naoki: "..."
Don’t co here, little Nemona!
But Nemona, being her usual self, ran over: "Ah! Koraidon is here too!"
Koraidon: "Ah gahss~"
Seeing Koraidon still rembered her, Nemona was even more delighted: "Mr. Naoki, I challenge you!"
At this mont, Boss Clay and the CEO of Rotom Technology Company also walked over.
Upon seeing Alder, the two imdiately spotted the young man standing beside him and astonishingly asked: "Who might this be?"
Alder: "He’s a friend of mine, the Champion Trainer from the Paldea Region, Naoki! It’s been a while, Boss Clay, Nikar."
Boss Clay, mindful that Alder’s Volcarona had recovered, linked it to their previous conversation and instantly deduced the relationship between this young man nad Naoki and Alder.
