"It seems soone got into an argunt. A bookstore manager is scolding a scholar."

The wide street was crowded with onlookers.
Unable to see inside, they could only hear a strong-voiced man cursing loudly.

Bai Zhi’er kicked her small legs, jumped off the carriage to watch the commotion.
Jun Kuang noticed and quickly followed.
He protected Bai Zhi’er by her side, and they squeezed into the crowd together.
They saw a skinny scholar, with a patchwork of clothes, his face bruised and battered, sitting on the ground, his collar held by the bookstore manager.
The manager addressed the surrounding crowd.
"Everyone, see for yourselves. Half a month ago, this scholar fainted at my bookstore’s door. I kindly saved him and even let him read my family’s books for free!"
"But today, I caught him stealing books from my bookstore to sell! Tell , should such a person be punished?"
The frail scholar weakly explained, "I needed silver coin to manage so connections. Once I beco an official, I’ll repay you several tis over!"
