Bai Zhi’er’s round eyes were bright, and her small body sat upright.
"What is it? Just say it."
Chu Ping raised a probing gaze and quickly glanced at Qingi.
His handso face turned red, his voice barely audible: "I... um, um..."
By the end, he fell completely silent.
Bai Zhi’er listened in utter confusion, blinking her large, bewildered eyes.
"Senmo?"
Qingi stood behind Bai Zhi’er, furrowing her brows: "Can’t you straighten your tongue when you speak?"
Feng Fuce sat across from Bai Zhi’er, seemingly expecting this.
He picked up his teacup and took a quiet sip.
Chu Ping’s face turned even redder: "Marquis, perhaps you can help speak, I am too shy!"
Feng Fuce gave him a sideways glance: "Does that an I have thicker skin?"
Bai Zhi’er burst into laughter, her little hand covering her belly as she giggled.
"Listening to your bickering is so funny, what’s the matter that you can’t say?"
Chu Ping lowered his head, shyly stomping his foot repeatedly: "It’s so embarrassing!"
Feng Fuce looked at his unmanly appearance and pressed his temple in exasperation.
"He wants to propose to Qingi. He asked to co today as a witness."
"What?!" Bai Zhi’er and Qingi spoke in unison.
The young creature was full of surprise.
Qingi was first shocked, then angry. She glared at Chu Ping: "Good for you, Chu Ping. I treated you as a friend, yet you want to marry !"

The surrounding palace Servants covered their mouths, secretly laughing.

Just then, the palace Servants lifted the curtains on either side.
Guoguo entered carrying a box of betrothal gifts.
His cheeks were adorned with two bright red patches of rouge on either side.
This is a Great Chu custom called "Xi Tongzi."
It involves sending a boy from the family carrying gifts when proposing to the girl.
Guoguo’s face was expressionless, even appearing sowhat disgruntled, clearly unwilling.
Bai Zhi’er laughed so hard she rocked back and forth.
She clapped her small hands: "How nice, how nice, Guoguo is so cute dressed like this, like a Lucky Doll."
Guoguo took a deep breath, striving to calm his mind.
"Chu Ping, hurry up, or I’ll just die." He urged with dead-fish eyes.
