Bai Zhi’er chuckled, "I am not here to save you; I am here to settle so rules with you."
Upon hearing this, Mu Rou’s expression froze.
"Miss Mu, aren’t you going to invite in?" Bai Zhi’er raised her eyebrows.
Mu Rou promptly made a welcoming gesture, "Princess, please move to the main hall. Little Lian, go and pour so tea."
Bai Zhi’er and Prince Qing sat in the grand armchairs in the main hall, one on each side.
The uncle and niece, with their imposing presence, indeed embodied the spirit of a family.
In contrast, Mu Rou, who was of a similar age to Bai Zhi’er, felt sowhat ill at ease.
Bai Zhi’er was the Bright Pearl of the Empire, while she was but a speck of dust.
"What does the Princess wish to discuss?" Mu Rou asked proactively.
Bai Zhi’er’s voice was crisp and lodious, "I know all about you and my Third Uncle; I’m here today because of that."
Mu Rou’s eyes shifted, as if gaining so confidence.
She gently covered her still flat abdon and walked over to sit beside the chair.
"Your Highness, did Princess Consort Kang send you to speak on her behalf?"
Prince Qing furrowed his brow and slamd the table in anger, "Insolence, how dare you speak to the Princess like that?"
Mu Rou looked apologetic, but her tone was not overly courteous.
"I have been troubled by this matter constantly; my purity was originally defiled by the Prince, and I even considered death."
"However, they keep saving ti and again, even giving a sum of money in hopes of settling this."
"To them, it might not be a significant matter, but my purity is gone!"
"Now, with the unborn child within , leaving the Imperial Mansion ans I will not have any other family to marry into. I might as well be dead!"
Mu Rou said all this while dabbing tears from the corners of her eyes with a handkerchief.
Looking at Bai Zhi’er and Prince Qing she said, "In my deepest despair, the Prince promised to take responsibility and give the child in my belly a legitimate status."
"What else could I do but agree? I am but a humble commoner; how could I resist?"
"They made like this, and now they involve the Princess, which is simply using their power to oppress and bully !"
Prince Qing was about to beco furious again after hearing this.
Bai Zhi’er, however, held down his hand.
She looked at Mu Rou.
Bai Zhi’er blinked her bright eyes mischievously.
"Don’t get agitated, Miss Mu, didn’t I say? I ca today to settle so rules."
"Since you feel so pitiful and beyond control, I’ll give you two choices."
"One, abort the child and I’ll give you this house; Two, run away together with my Third Uncle, living a wandering life."
Bai Zhi’er smiled sweetly, "But I must remind you, my Third Uncle has angered my father because of this matter and will soon be demoted to a commoner."
"He intends to leave all his wealth to his wife and children, which has nothing to do with you. If you’re willing to endure hardships with him, I’m sure he would give you and your child a legitimate status."
Mu Rou’s face turned pale, "Princess, are you jesting with ?"
Bai Zhi’er looked at her with sparkling black eyes, "Do I look like I’m jesting with you?"
Mu Rou suddenly stood up, her body trembling.
She stared at Bai Zhi’er and asked in a sowhat sharp voice, "As a young woman yourself, Princess, why can’t you understand the pain of my purity being defiled?"
Bai Zhi’er laughed coldly. Seeing Mu Rou’s agitation, she beca even less hurried.
Indeed, there was a ghost in this, after all.
Bai Zhi’er folded her arms, her delicate face, fair and pink.
Leaning back against the chair she said, "I’ve given you a chance, a choice between two options, isn’t that good enough?"
