Bai Jie didn’t even turn his head.
He strode forward, and Mo Yanchi, as the teacher, felt a sense of duty and had to dismount the carriage to chase after him.
"Bai Jie, stop!" Mo Yanchi sternly reprimanded.
Bai Jie was still angry.
He stubbornly said, "Master doesn’t need to worry, I’m just going ahead to ask soone to send a ssage ho. I’m not going anywhere; I’ll wait at the station for my family to co pick up."
Mo Yanchi had already caught up to him and grabbed his sleeve.
"We just set off, and you’re having a tantrum because of so discomfort. If everyone did this, how could I manage the students?"
Mo Yanchi gave him a tug: "Co on, back to the carriage. If you want to rest, I’ll discuss it with Marquis Wan on your behalf. Don’t be so impulsive!"
Just then.
A rumbling sound ca from the hillside above them.
So female students saw it and scread out, "Watch out for danger!"
Mo Yanchi and Bai Jie looked up.
To their shock, rocks were tumbling down the hillside!
Bai Jie turned pale with fright, and Mo Yanchi pushed him: "Hurry up!"
However, Bai Jie was so scared that he fell to the ground.
Mo Yanchi sprinted a few steps, finding Bai Jie hadn’t followed. Turning back, he saw Bai Jie still in the sa spot!
Rocks kept falling around them one after another, and Mo Yanchi, paying little attention to anything else, gritted his teeth and rushed back to Bai Jie’s side.
Zhi’er sat on horseback, his eyes suddenly turning cold.
With a "whoosh," a sound that mortals couldn’t hear spread out.
Pink-golden ripples emanated from Zhi’er.
These lights slowed the speed of the falling rocks.
Almost simultaneously, Feng Fuce grabbed a horse and galloped towards them.
In a split second, Feng Fuce’s left and right hands each grabbed Bai Jie and Mo Yanchi, pulling them out of danger.
Once they were safe, Zhi’er withdrew his mana.
With a few rumbling sounds, all the massive stones crashed onto the road ahead.
The students were all stunned, and aside from their frightened breathing, only silent relief remained.
Zhi’er quickly ran to Mo Yanchi’s side.
"Master, are you okay?"
Mo Yanchi waved his hand, visibly exhausted.
He was old, and he had wasted so strength pulling Bai Jie, coupled with a bit of shock. Now his face didn’t look good.
Zhi’er helped check his pulse, confirming that Mo Yanchi was physically alright, albeit slightly startled, and relaxed.
They turned their attention to Bai Jie.
Bai Jie was quite shaken, with a shallow wound on his face.
He was so overly frightened that his mouth remained agape for a long ti.
Feng Fuce coldly said, "You’re safe now."
Bai Jie finally seed to regain his senses and burst into tears.
"Thank goodness for the teacher and the Marquis; I thought... I thought I was going to die, sob." Bai Jie wiped his tears.
If Mo Yanchi hadn’t pulled him and if Feng Fuce hadn’t rescued them amidst the rocks,
Bai Jie might have already been crushed by the rocks.
Classmates gathered to console him.
After Bai Jie cald down, he thanked Mo Yanchi and the Marquis Wan.
"I shouldn’t have thrown a tantrum. Thank you, teacher and Marquis, for saving my life." He bowed deeply.
At this point, Bai Jie was too shaken to continue with them.
Feng Fuce arranged for two Xiu Luo Envoys to escort him back to the capital.
The others followed Zhi’er’s designated path, taking a detour to the Long River.
Before leaving, Feng Fuce sent Guoguo and the others to check the mountain.
The reason for the falling rocks was the recent heavy rains, causing the mountain to be unstable, and they just happened to encounter it.
Fortunately, no one was killed because of it.
