"Hoh... so soone actually killed one of our scouts?" The man seated on the throne spoke with an air of mild amusent. He hadn’t expected anyone to target his own personal belongings, especially since he was the Family Head of one of the Seven Great Families.
"Yes, my Lord... one of our chosen elite scouts has perished, and this life core indicates that his death is absolute. As for the exact reason why he died... we still do not know, but according to our territorial records, only lower-tier beasts should be present in that specific area." He spoke with a defeated tone, completely unconvinced that an elite would just randomly die like that.
The scouts sent out by the major powerhouses were more than capable of contending with and killing almost anyone, and they were far too competent to die by the hands of a re beast. And as for the possibility of being betrayed by a rival faction? It was highly unlikely, because the Great Families still followed their own strict creeds; they wouldn’t stoop lower than dirt when their collective reputation was on the line.
Reputation was one of the greatest pillars in building a solid foundation for a Family...especially for powerhouses like them, who had existed long enough for their prestige and pride to be permanently cented into history.
"Hmm... so soone either assassinated him, or the cot itself is directly related to it," the Family Head concluded. He was far too sharp to overlook such obvious connections.
"Yes, my Lord. We are already actively searching for any physical trails left behind by the potential culprit, and we are also tracking down the body of the deceased... the chances of collecting useful information from the corpse remain high." The bowing subordinate was also analytical, delving deeply into the matter. Perhaps there really was a massive conspiracy behind this sudden occurrence.
"You may go... find a solution to this. Request reinforcent from the main force to deploy a larger number of scouts and high-tier fighters." The Family Head dismissed him casually.
As for the sudden death of his loyal vassal? He didn’t give a single shit about it. He could easily recruit plenty more, and absolutely no one would dare say no to him. He was effectively the most powerful entity in this entire land, and they could easily compensate the family for the death of a re dog... and that would solve the problem entirely.
"Haha... I wonder what kind of exciting things are about to happen..." his voice muttered, slowly fading away as the night finally drew toward its absolute peak.
