Lucien laughed. A sharp, breathless laugh.
Of all the rewards, the physique thrilled him most. His frail body could finally be cured. The thought of being able to cultivate made him tremble.
His gaze fixed on the three cards floating before him. Gold. Purple. Platinum.

He frowned. The fire origin elent would burn through his weak body. The blade was useful, but it wouldn’t fix his foundation.
The physique was the only choice.

Relief washed over him. He wanted to stay unnoticed, even though he could finally cultivate.
He clicked the Ultra Rare card.
The card shattered. A platinum light burst from the fragnts and sank into Lucien’s body.
Then the pain ca.
It crawled through his bones, his muscles, his nerves, his soul. Every piece of him broke apart. Then the system put him back together.
Lucien cursed inwardly, gritting his teeth.
Before he could recover, another card shattered. A golden light burst from the fragnts and sank into his body. A wave of fla burned through him, refining every part of his flesh. For a mont, he was made of fire. But the flas did no damage to the room. They focused only on him.
After a while, the pain faded. Lucien opened his eyes and took a deep breath. Only a few minutes had passed, but it felt like days.
The purple card that had been floating beside him crumbled. A short blade dropped onto his lap. Black. Cold. Weightless. The edge drank the lamplight, leaving no reflection.

Lucien was surprised by the continuous notifications. He could feel the strength hidden under his frail body.
For a mont, a tear dropped from his eye. How many tis had he dread of this in both his lives? Now he was like everyone else.

He frowned. The human bloodline ca from his father. That left only one possibility for the dragon bloodline: his mother.
Her origin had always been unknown. None of her family had ever visited. Only Seraphina ca a few years ago, claiming to look for his mother because she was from the sa clan.

His mind churned as he stared at the status update progress bar slowly filling to 100%.
This world was called Aethelgard. Similar to the fantasy novels he read in his past life, it had a unique energy called Originat that people cultivated.
Humans were just one of twelve major races. The others were Dragons, Volkoids (beastials), Demons, Angels, Volkins (half-beastials), Phoenixes, Titans, Spirits, Dwarves, the Sea Race, and Elves. All of them ruled this world together.
