Nier's eyes went wide, genuinely thrown.

He turned his head and stared out the window. Rain kept slamming the glass in heavy sheets. Sothing far away flickered behind his eyes, as old mories arise from the depths of his mind.
"Can I ask you sothing, Bella?"
"Sure, go ahead."
He didn't look at her when he spoke. His voice ca out low, flat, like he was reading off a list.
"Has your mother ever broken every bone in your body...over and over, for ten straight years… just to build a body that could walk away from getting hit by a truck?"
Bella went completely still.

"Didn't think so."
He kept going, with his usual stoic or dead tone.
"How about ever having your own mother ever force-feed you drugs and poison day after day just to build up resistance?"

Nier gave a humorless huff.
"Yeah. One last one then. Rather he took one last long drag off his cigarette, and let the smoke roll out slow, then flicked the glowing butt out the partially open window into the rain.
He then stepped out first, the rain instantly soaking his hoodie, but right after he lift his left hand up, opening his palma, as a chunk of his own flesh peeled up off his arm like it was nothing, as it began to twist, stretch, and reshaped itself into a big black umbrella right in front himself and Bella.
The sight was freaky as hell, for anyone seeing him do this for the first ti, but for Bella it made her curious.

That aside though, Nier shortly after began to walk around to her side, popped the door open, held the umbrella over her, and offered his hand.
"C'mon. Let's get inside, with the rain it is getting cold as shit out here."

Nier said, imitating his mother's voice perfectly.
